So today I go for all my tests, psych evaluation, meeting the surgeon. It’s taken a while to get here but seems like it’s just going so fast. Long day ahead.

I’m hoping so. Nervous and excited still. But I’m ready for it.

SMOKING! HOW TO QUIT?!
Kenny B replied to Krystal Moon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the nicotine free vape! I have smoked for 25 years, when I decided to have the surgery, I laid them down, used nicotine free vape for about 2 weeks and then was done with that. I’m sure that is not quite long enough for some, but for me that’s all it took. -
First visit to the hospital

Thank you, those are great questions that I def need to ask. Some of those I wouldn’t have even thought of. -
Today I leave going to Pennsylvania. Tomorrow is my visit to Geisinger medical center for all my doc appointments. If things go good, I will get my surgery date. Kinda excited and kinda nervous about this.

First visit to the hospital

Thanks. Trying to think of all the questions I need to ask, and it’s like my mind is drawing a blank. -
Hi, my name is Kenny, new guy on the block I guess, and I’m in the early stages of preparing for surgery. My insurance only covers a couple hospitals so I am commuting from South Carolina to Pennsylvania. I have my first appointment June 14th and they tell me I will be going thru 6 months of tests and preparations in one day, and if all is good, I will be given a tentative date for surgery. I’m feeling very nervous, kind of excited, different feelings everyday lol. I know I am ready to make a change, that’s also why I signed up on here. Support, communication, and knowledge are a big part of it. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, couldn’t find a specific place on the forums to do that so I figured I would start here seeing as I know I will have a lot of questions.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I am pretty well set on having the bypass surgery. My sister did it several years ago and has made a total life transformation. Have been reading up on both the bypass and the sleeve surgeries, and just feel that the bypass is more of what I’m looking for.
