Hi I am 14 days post op and it is hard. I have had similar thoughts but I have forced myself to think about the future and not here and now. Time passes so quickly (even if it feels like one day is lasting forever ) but soon the benefits will start to become apparent and we will be glad we stuck it out. Remember why you decided to have the op in the first place. Be positive I know it’s hard but it can be done xx

Hi I am nearly 1.5 weeks post op and was feeling as if my incisions were starting to calm and heal well and I was having limited pain. However last night I was resting on my right side and tried moving over to lay on my back and the pain was excruciating starting from my belly button all the way up to another incision. I couldn’t physically move as the pain was so bad. I had to wake my husband to help. He had to support my stomach while I moved. I finely fell asleep however the incisions are very tender today. I feel like I’d taken 5 steps back. Has anyone else had a similar thing happen to them?

Hi I am going to see the dietitian today, hopefully I will be able to move on to soups etc. I have very similar symptoms to you, tightness of tummy, gurgling and the #2 watery stool. (Is this normal? ) It is so worrying not knowing if my body is healing correctly.

I also had the h hernia, which hadn’t been diagnosed pre op, so was a surprise for everyone. Glad your doing well.

Thank you, I can see that you are doing well. I feel different everyday. Yesterday I felt very positive and today I feel the total opposite. How are your moods?

Hope you are recovering well. How are you finding the recovery so far?

Hi I’m from England but living in Qatar Doha, as my husbands job is based here. I am 42 with two young children.

I had my surgery on the 13th May. I’m home and on clear broth and protein. This is a lot harder mentally than I anticipated. I am hoping joining this support group will give me a more positive outlook.
