Please share your experiences with post-weight loss body contouring surgery. I know I need to be at a stable weight but I'm planning ahead and thinking positive Specifically, what was your recovery like? How much time off work did you need? Any recommendations, tips, pointers are very welcome! Share pics if you're comfortable with that! Thanks in advance!

I’m doing well overall. Back to work and doing a lot of walking. I’ve been trying new foods slowly but struggling with vomiting. Certain textures won’t stay down. So I’m advancing my diet more slowly than others. The dietitian is awesome and is really helping me in between appointments. I think I had unreasonable expectations to reach a “normal” state faster. One thing is for sure: I am amazed that I can survive on so few calories. If you would have told me last year that I could function on less than 1,000 cal a day I would have laughed out loud. The mind games we play on ourselves..... Probably the biggest challenge!

Try buying only things on deep sale or even cheaper clothes that don't usually last long like from H &M. You could also try resale shops for low prices on gently used things in transition sizes. There's also an online retailer of women's fashion called Universal Standard; they have a liberal return policy that allows you to return things for a different size even after they've been worn. Also, don't forget to itemize your receipt from Goodwill; all those clothing donations are tax deductible. Congratulations on your great success!

Weightloss surgery won’t work for me
Parsley replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YYG, I had/have the same fear. I think it comes from all my past failed attempts to lose and keep it off. (I’m a YoYo Girl too). But logically and scientifically, the weight will come off with exercise and less intake. We just gotta believe!!! I’m 4 weeks after bypass and on a plateau. It’s brutal and so disappointing. But I’m sticking with the food plan, pushing fluids, and walking more. Because I just gotta believe!!!
