June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Pearldrop replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m on the other side!! Surgery went well. I’m feeling no nausea so that’s a huge plus. I’m still on pain meds so it’s all hugs & puppies for now. im allowed to have ice chips so that’s helping with the thirst. So far so good how are the other 4 June peeps feeling? -
June 4th surgery twins?
Pearldrop replied to sharaimonique's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey the fellow 4 June sleevers. How’s everyone feeling? Not long now and we will be on the other side. My surgery is planned for 1pm and my surgeon has told me I’ll be in hospital for at least 3 nights. I’m hoping by the 4th night, when I’m back home, I can side sleep with some support on my tummy -
Ouch UTI are not fun. I hope they gave you antibiotics that you can take. I assume you are taking your supplements? On a different thread here, someone had a B12 shot and it helped with the lack of energy. Two weeks post op, is not long for your body to recover. Before you add carbs, Check with your team and stick with your plan.

Final labs before surgery..... NICOTINE URINE TEST?
Pearldrop replied to RCN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How did you go with your tests? I have zero knowledge on how they test for nicotine, but am hoping you passed your tests and have joined the non smokers bench. Giving up cigarettes has been brutal on top of the preop diet. -
I have a cruise booked for 13 August. I’m planning on avoiding the buffet and eating at the restaurant instead. On my last cruise I gained 1kg using this strategy. This time around I plan on doing the morning yoga too. I.m thinking of packing my scales to keep me on track, do you think this is a good idea?

Tomorrow is my date. Can’t wait! Taking my before pics in the morning to use as my base and my continued motivation to stay on plan.

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Pearldrop replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My date is tomorrow 4 June in the afternoon. I’m very excited and nervous. I’ve really appreciated the information on this forum. For those scheduled for tomorrow you’ll be in my thoughts, wishing you a swift procedure & a fast healing xx -
Do you know what your surgeon meant by “pull some fat from the walls”? If this is too personal, my apologies and please ignore my question.

June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Pearldrop replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m so excited for tomorrow!! One more sleep and then I’ll be on the other side. Im nervous and having doubts/concerns, but thanks to this forum I know that’s normal. This group has been a font of knowledge and support. I’m looking forward to us continuing to support each other as we all walk (and maybe jog one day) to all of our goals. -
It’s ok, this is hard. It’s important to be kind to yourself and try to understand why you eat what you eat. The more you understand and learn the more likely you are to succeed

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Pearldrop replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think going to a future appointment with your husband is a great idea. I think it’s a great way to include him. I think I’ll start doing the same thing with my husband -
My preop diet has been a bit of a disaster. My surgery is on Monday @1pm. So all protein shakes and protein water for the weekend. I’m looking forward to being on the other side when I’m all tooled up

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Pearldrop replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my pre blood tests today. The technician was so lovely. She had her sleeve 10 weeks ago and was kind enough to show me her surgery marks. We have the same surgeon so it was great to see how tidy his stitching is lols. It was good to see how small the incisions are as well. Few more days to go. -

12 days post-op. Depressed and struggling
Pearldrop replied to StrawberryLaray's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hang in there Strawberry, and take each day as it comes. If in another 2 weeks you are not ready to go back to work take some extra time. Going back to a stressful job is no fun when you are not feeling yourself or can use your normal coping mechanisms, ie your bath. For now focus on healing, not returning to work in 2 weeks. I’m still preop so can’t offer any advice re the hunger, I wish you a speedy resolution xx -
I’m not telling anyone at work. I’m only sharing this experience with my husband. I’ve chosen to keep it private as it is one of those things everyone likes to give their opinions on, whether you asked or not lols. It’s hard enough without helpful friends/coworkers giving their advice.

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Pearldrop replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are a few of us scheduled for June 4 so you’ve come to the right place. I’m 46, yo yo dieter for the past 10 years. I never had a weight problem until I was 30, and switched to a desk job. Then all my unhealthy eating patterns came home to roost. With this, I’m learning to eat better and reset my bad habits -
Any Advice On How To Quit Smoking?
Pearldrop replied to mommybo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon is rigid on this point. He said they will test me the morning of my procedure and if I test positive no surgery. I’ve not had a cigarette for a month. I quit on 6 April, but slipped. One more week to go, am not going to slip again. -
Anyone had Single Incision Gastric Sleeve? Results please?
Pearldrop replied to newlifeat41's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for the photos, you look wonderful and very happy. You mentioned you had hair loss, how long did it last? -
Please call your doctor and have them check on you

Sending you hugs & love as you walk down this path, be kind and generous with yourself. It’s not clear from your post if you spoke with your friends surgeon or if they spoke on your behalf. If your treating doctors are saying all is ok to go ahead and you are ready I’d say go for it. If you need more time, then wait.

Bye Bye Sugar...
Pearldrop replied to Love2Travel816's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m not sure why it works but if I have a craving for something sweet I find a little pickled ginger satisfies it. -

Pearldrop replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m not there yet, 1 week to go. I’d love to talk with you about this as I worry I’ll be the same.
