How are you feeling now? I feel great but am very tired, I don’t have a lot of energy. I’m sure my energy will come back in the next few weeks.
-
How are you feeling post surgery? I hope it went well and you’re up & about
-
Start again, you slipped don’t beat yourself up. Start again with your liquids and keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. Best of luck, and see you soon on the losers bench

I’m not sure what I have yet. I have plasters on my incisions, guess I’ll find out when the come off in the shower. They don’t scratch or itch so I’m pretty happy about that. The weirdest thing for me is I haven’t had a poo for 3 days. I know why, it’s just weird. I don’t feel constipated at all, and have released some gas

Post op liquid diet
Pearldrop replied to Liasstory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don’t mind the liquids, as it’s winter in Australia I’m having broth a lot, it’s easy to sip and doesn’t upset my tummy -
Possible I've Lost Too Much?
Pearldrop replied to Monkeyfulbrighter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what you’ve said, you aren’t eating enough of the good foods or drinking water if your dehydrated. Is the a number you can call for advice? If not, keep up your liquids and protein til you can speak with your doctor. -
Husband does not support my dream to have this surgery

I fear this too. We have a tool to help us, write down everything you eat, double check your food choices, remember why you did this. Think of all the health benefits you have now and focus on your success and don’t have ‘cheat days’ with food. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Pearldrop replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel pretty good. Some minor gas pain, but that should be gone by tomorrow. Was allowed liquids today for the first time. My taste buds don’t appear to have changed much, yet. I haven’t had much, as a few spoonfuls of broth satisfies me. will be likely going home tomorrow night if everything continues this way. I’m still on a drip so I’m hydrated for when I go home. -
I’m on the other side now. Everything went well and I’m feeling pretty good

I’m up and walking around the ward. No nice outdoor area where I am. Most of the discomfort is from the gas. I do have a sore tummy, I’m taking pain relief for that
-
Thanks Charity G I was having the heirna repair too and wondering if I’d have the walls thing too
-
I used the optifast brand for the soups, a bit bland but ok. I substituted the shakes for ‘get up and go’. My nutritionist suggested it as a back up to the shakes

A lot of people seem to experience head hair loss, what about other hair? Have any of you lost leg hair or underarm hair or eyebrows? Have any men lost their facial hair?

Totally Failing at this Pre Op Diet
Pearldrop replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The preop was hard. I had a few nibbles here and there, nothing too drastic. The protein drinks/soups did make me poo a lot so nothing stayed too long in my system. The best thing I did was drinking so much water. I managed 3+ litres a day. I usually drink a lot of water of a day and to bump up my night intake I drank from a wine glass. -
I was told to avoid straws as well, so I bought a sippy cup, like I had as a kid. Hoping this will slow my drinking rate, and I can then progress to my bottle

June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I didn’t know that was an option, do you have someone at home, like a nurse that drops by, or do you call if you need something? -
So many choices, and options already. Maybe take a weekend holiday to your favourite place. If you’re an animal person get yourself a pet or volunteer as a dog walker. Go swimming and feel good.

June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Pearldrop replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m due to go home Thursday night. I’m in Australia, with private insurance, and my surgeon prefers a longer stay so he can monitor your fluids. For the first week he prefers less intake by mouth nd to get your fluids via a drip. How long are you in for? The hospital stays seem to be shorter elsewhere. -

June 4th surgery twins?
Pearldrop replied to sharaimonique's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It’s the morning after and I’m feeling good, considering. i wet the bed last night, I was a little too comfortably numb, and now have bladder control back this morning. I have some pain from the gas, it is manageable at this stage. I’ve taken my drs advice and am having all the pain relief offered. I am able to move around on my own and am having ice chipsand using lip balm. That with the drip is stopping me from being dehydrated. I drank a lot of Water leading up to the surgery so my body was well hydrated prior to fasting so I think that helped. I don’t feel hungry, but would love a coffee. Will see the surgeon later today to see when I’m on liquids. hope all my surgery twins are doing great. -

June 4th surgery twins?

I’m on the other side!! Surgery went well. I’m feeling no nausea so that’s a huge plus. I’m still on pain meds so it’s all hugs & puppies for now. im allowed to have ice chips so that’s helping with the thirst. So far so good how are the other 4 June peeps feeling?
