Thanks for all the advice. Missouri-Lee, I have pain in my knee that came out of nowhere and it is not getting any better. It is pain under and on the side of my kneecaps as well as behind my knee. I can not walk normal or stretch my leg without pain. RapidFirePickle and Frustr8, you all made great points, thank you.

Is it possible that the insurance denies surgery because of a new knee injury? Somehow I injured my knee and I am a little hesitant to go to the orthopedic out of concern surgery could get denied. Maybe the insurance would say I could not excercise enough and so forth. Maybe I am overthinking this, would not be the first time 🤪

Pre Op test done. What is next?
Silke replied to Silke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That makes sense. Every insurance is different. I think I will call my surgeon and see if there is anything else to do for me. Thankfully my insurance does not require a months long diet. -

Hello everyone, I have all my pre op tests done and do not know what is next. What can I expect from this point on? I am so ready for this and cannot wait for my surgery date. Please let me know what your experience was/is? Thanks to all

I took the breath test for H-Pylori and it came back positive. Is there anybody that had that experience? It is a bacteria in the lining of the stomach that can cause ulcers. I am beyond frustrated since I will have to take that test again in about 6 weeks after taking medicine to get rid of the bacteria, which pushes everything back by over a month. Please share your experience, Thank you

Hey there, I would like to know how long it takes for the insurance to approve the surgery? Do you save money on groceries since you can not eat much, ? I have a desk job, is 2 weeks enough to take off from work? I have to go see nutritionist, phsycologist and get a sleep study done, other than that I got all the other tests done

First doctors visit yesterday :-)
Silke replied to Silke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope to have my date set in 3-4 months from now. I am super exited. I know I can do the change of my eating habits. It will be hard but I cannot wait until I can finally walk without pain, riding my bicycle and so on. -
Hello, I am new here Yesterday I had my first initial visit with the surgeon. I am getting the Roux-en-y, gastric bypass. I called my insurance today and it is covered, yay!! Thank god I don't have to go thru a 3 or 6 months diet before getting approved. I now have to go to a nutritionist, psychologist, getting blood work and EKG done and so forth. it is getting real now. I was not aware that i would have to go thru all these appointments but it will be all worth.
