    Sleeved Monday

I was sleeved Monday with a hiatal hernia rx and this is similar to how I'm feeling. I'm not getting all the fluids I need because it hurts to drink. I swallow and feel it go down and then it feels like little bubbles are going up through my chest and then it's like a large balloon inflates in my abdomen, causing serious pain. I would dewalt love to hear that this goes away at some point. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any MAY sleevers???

Oh, the face zaps are terrible. I get those and really bad nausea if I miss a day. I don't necessarily like taking them, but I've been weaned off three times now and I'm fine for 6-8 weeks and then the anxiety and panic attacks set in. I think they make me a more functional, calmer person and quite frankly, just like bariatric surgery is a tool, so is Effexor. I can't imagine trying to get to surgery without being in my best mental state and for me, medication happens to be part of that. I have my consult with the surgeon today and will be starting my two weeks of whatever fun diet they tell me to do tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Any MAY sleevers???

Thank you! Just hearing that I can do this makes me feel more confident. I'm meeting with my surgeon next week and am hoping that gives me an additional boost of confidence.

Thank you for your reply, it is much appreciated. I would definitely love to hear how your surgery goes & am glad to hear that someone else with anxiety is going through this the same time as I am. Thanks for the advice on focusing on prepping, too. A distraction is pretty much always a good idea.

    Any MAY sleevers???

I'm scheduled for 5/30. I have anxiety that I take medication for that controls it really well, but I'm unbelievably terrified about having surgery. I've never been anesthetized and I'm really scared. For me, the prep and post-op diet is totally not an issue. I'm trying to calm myself down, but the closer it gets, the more nervous I am. My mom and brother both had bypasses and neither seems to understand my fearfullness about this. I'm really scared something is going to go wrong and I'm going to die. I want this so bad, but keep seeing myself rolling out of the bed, gown flapping in the wind, butt cheeks on display, IV bag trailing behind me as I stumble down the hallway slurring, "Nope! Not today, you butchers!" as I make my escape. The weird part is, I'm an excellent surgical candidate, my surgeon is very experienced and I'm relatively healthy. Am I the only one who is terrified of the surgery itself, constantly second guessing this decision? But then, the idea of staying this way forever is awful.
