  1. Hello, I haven't posted in a long time. My puter has been on the "fritz" as they say. My banding was April 17th. I have lost 23 lbs. I have had no problems with the banding per'sa, I have had problems with getting a local Doctor to take me as a patient and do my 6 weeks adjustments and fills. After working with Ruby the facilator from Beliteweights we found one in Lousianna (better that flying back to Detroit) It is a 3 to 4 hours to get there. However for insurance reasons I could not see him until 3months after the surgery. My appointment is July 21. I am walking 2 miles 3 to 4 times a week in less than 30 minutes. for a 66 year old that is all I can do. Sorry it has been so long posting, this is a great site and hope all is well with everyone. L

    band for life

I choose Detroit because they had an excellent medicare plan and I was able to meet the requirements and they work with me. I tried other clinics clooser to home, and the staff didn't seem to be to be as devoted to get you qualified. I wish you well and ask for OLGA she is one of the special nurses on the Bariatric unit and tell her some on in Arkansas is waiting for an email. Thanks
  3. :smile2:Hi I was banded April 16,2008. I live in Hot Springs Ar. and flew to Detroit for my surgery. I can't say enough positive things about the staff and surgeons there. They were super. I am on my third week on the post eating plan and so far I haven't had any adverse effects. I have lost 12lbs and I am so pleased with myself. I joined this forum to get and give support. :coolgleamA:

    band for life

Hi, I had it done in Detroit Medical Center and i can't say enough good about my experience. The staff was supper and the Doctor great too. I am on my third week of the post surgery. I strongly suggest for you to start walking as soon as you can. Walking right after surger prevents blood clots, and passes gas that is 90% of pain you experience. If possible space the pain meds. I wish you the best and thanks for taking the time to write on the thread.
