    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Yes, Next week already, it feels like time passed in a flash, I booked the surgery two months ago. The smallest I can ever remember being was 135 in high school too! I was in dance and it kept me in shape, m weight has slowly crept up through the years and after having my kids i packed on 20lbs each kid that just wouldn't come off. I used to be super active and then i tore all the ligaments in my foot and here came more weight. Now i also struggle just to stay under 200, i've tried everything including keto and it just comes right back on, with a vengeance every time. I told my family that I don't want to hear there opinions when they think i look weird if i do hit my goal weight. I know its going to be different for me because i haven't seen myself that small ever, even when i was at that weight i thought i was fat... if i knew then what i know now lol. I'm so ready thought to not feel all this weight on my knees and my back. That has been the hardest, not being as active because my foot swells under the weight and stress. Hope we can follow each others progress and be each others motivation!

    Gastric Sleeve Tijuana recommendations

Hi! I’m having my vsg in MX but on the Texas side in Piedras Negras, MX with Dr. Alvarez. I did tons of research and the best Dr.’s I found were Dr. Alvarez with Endobariatrics or Dr. Ortiz with OCC in Tijuana . I ended up making my final choice with Dr. Alvarez only due to when I asked the coordinator at the OCC if Dr. Ortiz would be performing my surgery with 100% certainty I was told no that he would be put on schedule but it was possible one of his colleges might step in. I had asked this because when I read testimonies from other patients on there Facebook account some of his patients reported that they had a different surgeon the day of. They all reported good things, however I felt like if I choose a Dr. for his reputation I wanted to have 100% certainty that he/she would perform my surgery. I asked the same question at Endobariatrics with Dr. Alvarez and was told he’s the head surgeon in every surgery and would 100% be doing my surgery. So that put me at ease. It was higher in cost but I wanted the peace of mind so I choose him in the end.

    Anyone use Dr Guillermo Alvarez?

Hi, I don't know if you had made a decision for which doctor to use. I'm scheduled for VSG surgery with Dr. Alvarez on June 15th. From all my research he is the best in the business, I can let you know how it goes so you can make an informed decision.

5'6 Female, with 33 BMI Anyone with Similar Stats

Lol I'm with you, I'm really hoping not to need anything else but if I do... well I'm SOL because I told the hubbster I would not go under the knife again.... Also I really want new counter tops and I can't just throw a t-shirt on my counters haha so I'll keep whatever wonderful body i'm left with... I'm really gonna try hard to workout to try an avoid that issue, but I've said a million times "I'm gonna workout consistently this time" and then I don't so we shall see.
  10. Hello Everybody!! So i'm booked for my VSG on June 15th with Dr. Alverez in piedras negras, MX. I'm 5'6 and my current weight is 200, I was wondering if anyone else had similar stats and had already had their surgery. Looking to find out what weight you got to after, if you had loose skin, or even if your just starting out it would be nice to have someone to share similar goals with. I've been told that my low goal should be about 10-20 pounds less then my comfortable weight because i will gain 10-20 pounds back when i got into maintenance so my low goal is 125-135. I'm hoping that when i hit maintenance i can put on 10-15 pounds of muscle, i know big goals a girl can dream right! Thanks!!

Newbie looking for sleeve twins 😃

Does anyone regret getting the sleeve?

I'm also pre sleeve, I'm 3 weeks away. I'm a big researcher before i do anything, I've read that the majority of people regret there sleeve in the first month because its the hardest. Then after time it gets better as things start to feel a little more normal. This is what i've told myself to expect so that way i don't get discouraged you just have to remember all the reasons you wanted to do this in the first place. Good Luck!

    Goals and expectations

Lol I feel like your my long lost sibling! I’m the same way I’m a planner/over researcher. This has its pros n cons as I’m sure you know! I’ve spent many sleepless nights on this forum... well pretty much since I booked my date... reading and trying to find other people who share my same stats n goals.. I also spend my nights and days dreaming of the pounds I’ll lose and the sizes I’ll drop... more then anything the clothes I’ll fit into! Lol I have 5 pairs of size 10 American Eagle jeans I bought 2 years ago saying I’ll fit into these only to have them hang in my closet new with tags staring at me... so I can’t wait till I can finally fit into those! I’m excited for you, I hope you hit all your mini goals and you major one as well. If you haven’t checked out Dr. Alverez Q&A videos on YouTube I highly recommend them. There’s so many good questions he answers on there and gives some good advice on what to expect weight loss wise but also what happens when you body takes small stall breaks... watching his videos have help put my mind at ease. Hope we can follow each other’s new adventure on here!

    Bathroom problems since December sleeve

Like everyone else suggested definitely see a dr. I’m pre sleeve but I can tell you that I had both my kids by c section and if any other moms out there have done it this way they will back me up on this... pooping after a c section is the worst. Your stools are like rocks after all the narcotics your pumped full of. And this may be tmi but desperate times call for desperate measures but the only thing that worked for me and wasn’t extremely painful was to pre lube the area and then use a suppository. I also did start taking stool softeners asap and after the initial blockage was cleared it was a lot better. Definitely speak to a dr first but if they point you to stool softners and you need to get things going this would be the route to take.

Oh wow your so close! That’s exciting, did you have to pre-op? I start my Pre-op June 10th. I’m also a size 12/14 depending on the jeans... loose skin is my biggest concern only because I told my husband that I would not do anything else major after this. So im hoping that works out. Can’t wait to see everyone’s before and afters! Please keep us updated if you don’t mind on how your doing after surgery.

Awesome! Congratulations on your success this far. I’ve always had flabby arms too so I’m not to worried about those. I’m hopeing my stomach and legs make it through alright. I like to weight lift and am hoping that I can do that successfully after VSG. Excited I’ve found people I can follow and share similar journeys with! Thanks for sharing!

    Sleeve Re-check. Help!

Hi! I have not been sleeved yet, however i've done a lot of research. From what i have read and what my dr. has said in youtube videos he post, its normal to gain back 10-20 pounds once you hit the maintenance stage. I have seen some post as well about doing what is called a sleeve reset diet, to allow the stomach to go back to the size it was when you were recently out of surgery. That may be something you might want to try and see if it helps with jump starting your weight loss again and help get those 20 pounds off.

Yes that is a steal, I’m not going to tell my mom, the biggest problem she has had with this is me going to MX. She kept asking me why I couldn’t just do it here. I told her it would be 2 to 3 times the cost. That’s amazing I’m glad you found something that works for you and makes you feel comfortable at the same time!
