I’m in Cincinnati. I had mine at Journeylite Physicians in Sharonville -
Thanks! I have been very fortunate that I have very little loose skin. At the rate I was losing, I was fully anticipating having an issue but it didn’t end up going that way. The only loose skin that I experienced was in my chest and “love handles.” I do a great deal of ab work and push ups every day and it has been doing the trick. Best of luck to you!

I feel scared and ashamed...
Jdesmond73 replied to sariejack's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was nervous as well but honestly I was more afraid of what my Years of obesity was doing to my health. I was on blood pressure meds for 10 Years, was pre diabeti, had sleep apnea, back issues, etc. There was no doubt in my mind that my weight was going to kill me at some point. At the encouragement of my Wife, Kids and Parents, I reluctantly went through with the VSG and it was the best decision I have ever made for myself. ALL of my health issues have been reversed and I feel like a new person. I am no longer ashamed of “letting myself go” regarding weight for all those Years. The past is done and I am now living in the moment and am excited about the future. I understand what you are going through but my advice would be to try and focus on the light at the end of the tunnel. Best of luck! -
For those who have lost weight- how does it feel to be thin?
Jdesmond73 replied to Elle_Woods's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel like I’m 18 Years old again. I have some much more energy now. Sometimes it feels very surreal. -

Hang in there and it will get better. A few days out, I was vomiting blood and shared your sentiments. I was pretty miserable for the first week or so. I know it’s essier said than done but keep focused, stay the course and all will be well in the long run. Best of luck!

New Guy here, from Macon, GA and nervous as a cat in a room full of rockers

Best of luck to you! I know exactly where you are....I am 44, battled my weight for Years, BP meds for 10 Years, pre diabetic, sleep apnea, etc. Just 7 Months out, I am off BP meds, no longer pre diabetic and no longer have sleep apnea. Easily the best decision I have ever made for my health. I hope everything goes well for you -

December2017 Sleevers Check In!
Jdesmond73 replied to Jade5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Very close to my goal at this point but I am feeling very comfortable with my current diet and exercise plan so I am going to stick with it and my body will decide for itself when the weight loss will stop. -
I may be oversimplifying things but if people have an issue, I don’t waste my time on them anymore. I did this for my health and it is the best decision for my health that I have ever made. I am no longer on blood pressure medication, no longer pre diabetic and no longer have sleep apnea. I have more energy for my Wife and Children and our home life is much better because of my surgery. If people have an issue with that, I don’t want anything to do with them. Interestingly, the people who have openly voiced their disapproval are overweight themselves. I know it’s hard to deal with the negatIvity but do what’s right for you and trust that it will all work out. Best of luck!

Why is it that we can no longer for the rest of our lives drink carbonated drinks or carbonated water like Perrier?
Jdesmond73 replied to apositivelife4me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had no carbonation or caffeine until I was 3 Months post op. I now drink 2 cups of coffee every morning and probably one or two flavored carbonated waters a day. Still losing weight and have had no side effects. -
Do it anyway. I am very lucky that my Wife was so supportive. Does your Wife have a weight problem? If she does, it could be a jealousy thing? My Wife was a swimmer in College and is currently very fit. She was concerned for my Health and she was behind me from day 1. However, if she would have given me a hard time, I would have done it anyway. Best decision I have ever made for my health. 7 Months post op, I am now off blood pressure meds, no longer have sleep apnea and and no longer pre diabetic. It will change your Life (and hers) for the better. Best of luck!

Congrats! Feeling better has been the best reward but now that it’s getting harder to lose, I’ll probably start to reward myself with something, Maybe nice clothes?

I had my first post surgery drink when I was about 4 Months out. I used to love red wine but I now despise it. Tastes horrible for some reason. I drink beer now but it fills me up so quickly. Also, post surgery, the alcohol hits me very quickly and it doesn't take much to become intoxicated. The occasional light beer seems to be the best course of action for me. Good luck

How are you treated by your mate!!!
Jdesmond73 replied to holly7744's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope your guy comes around and am sorry to hear that he has not been supportive. I am blessed to have an amazingly supportive Wife. She encouraged me to have the surgery about a Year before I finally pulled the trigger and has been amazing throughout the whole process -
My Doc didn't require it
