Thank You All! / When was your VSG Date

Sleeved 12/17/2017. Pre op liquid diet was terrible and I was miserable for a Month post op but I am very happy I had the surgery. I can't handle booze any more which is quite an adjustment but it's worth it. Good luck!
  3. What a wild ride. Hit my goal 10 Months post op. Hands down the best decision I have ever made for my health. I feel 20 years younger! I hope everyone is doing well

I feel like I blew it

Don’t worry. You will be fine. I drink 5 nights a week on average (starting 3 Months post op) and never stopped losing weight. I eat a bit more than I used to but not much

    I don't think I'm ready ):

I understand what you are going through and everyone has a different experience but for me, my only regret is that I waited until I was 44 to do it. Yes, there is a lifestyle change but it may not have to be as drastic as you think. About 6 Month post op, I started drinking alcohol again, carrfeine, carbonated beverages. The biggest challenge is just learning to adapt to the new way your body tolerates your intake. Best of luck to you!

    I Want a Cheese Enchilada.

Definitely will be able to. The Sausage King of Chicago is right.....it’s all about portion control. Best of luck!
  12. Trust me when I tell you the initial discomfort will pass. The first Month Post op, I was beyond miserable but now I have more energy than I did when I was 18 Years old.

Best decision ever. I wish I would have done it 10 years ago!

    40 something sleevers?

Great point! I have been saying that I should have done this 10 Years ago but at 34, I don't think I would have had the maturity or dedication to truly change my lifestyle. Best of luck to you!

How often do you weigh in?

I weigh myself every Monday morning and write it down in a spreadsheet. Most weeks, I have lost a bit but sometimes I’m up a few pounds. I try to focus more on non scale victories.

    40 something sleevers?

I am 44 and was sleeved in December of 2018. My Life has changed for the better in countless ways. I am healthier and hopefully a better Husband, Father and more productive member of Society. Should have done it 10 years ago

    CO-Workers knowing you business

I like to keep people guessing. Probably not the best course of action but it’s none of their business. I have told people that I trust and who I feel are asking because they genuinely care about me and my health that I had surgery. I have told others that I just eat a heck of a lot less than I used to Some others I have told that I have been working with a weight loss Doctor for the last Year. It is normal to be anxious about what to tell but my advice would be to just go with you gut (pardon the pun) and do whatever feels right to you. At the end of the day, you are doing this for your health and if people want to judge you, screw ‘em! Best of luck to you
  25. 1. What made you choose the Sleeve over the Lap Band? - I wanted something permanent and my Sister had a bad experience with the Lap Band 2. Have you had Hair loss with the Sleeve? - Not at all 3. What can you absolutely NOT eat now with the Sleeve? - Bread. Fills me up way too quickly and leaves me room for nothing else 4. At what point did you know you made the right decision with the Sleeve surgery? - About a week after surgery when I was back at work, feeling somewhat normal and down 12 pounds since surgery 5. What as been the best tool you've used in keeping your weight loss progressing? - Keeping carbs and sugar out of my life as much as possible
