Sorry, but you're spelling it wrong. It is on the play store as baritastic. There is a logo with four colors. -

Anyone NOT taking their vitamins?
Briswife15 replied to sleeveme7781's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't had my RNY yet, but from my research it is non-negotiable for both sleeve and RNY patients-- both must take vitamins! RNY just requires more. Do you really want to risk your long term health? It is part of what you signed up for! So, find some vitamins and calcium you like and just do it. Pre surgery- planned bypass now thinking sleeve
Briswife15 replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi. I'm pre-surgery and hoping to have my bypass in January. I have significant GERD which is mostly controlled by Dexilant and Zantac. I briefly flirted with the idea of the sleeve, but my surgeon won't do it on me because of the reflux. The sleeve has the potential to make reflux worse. Good luck with whatever one you choose! Thanks all for your replies!! I just ordered the 6 qt one from Amazon with accessories so I can make yogurt and cook eggs, too!! Excited to get it.

I don't have an official date, but my surgeon's office will submit to insurance this week and they're booking in January! I expect to hear by December 7th. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Didn't your surgeon give you a list of recommended vitamins for before and after surgery? I take Bariatric Advantage Prep vitamins and I'm pre surgery. I use the Bariatric Advantage chewy calcium citrate in caramel flavor. They're delicious. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

My surgeon won't do a sleeve on me because my barium swallow showed reflux and moderate dismobility. He said it was likely the reflux would get worse. I am on strong meds for GERD and still have reflux. So it is bypass for me. Good luck with whatever you choose. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Cross post: Will biotin make my facial hair grow?
Briswife15 replied to Oct517's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have female pattern hair thinning and took biotin and all it did was cause acne (a common side effect). It did nothing for my hair. I now use Rogain (the generic from CVS) but I will have to use it forever! It works great, but you can't stop or the hair will thin again. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Why don't more people get the MGB? I love mine!
Briswife15 replied to UnderTheCaliSun's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum

I also had the home test gor sleep apnea. I had something around my chest with a battery pack, and a thin cannula type thing just inside my nostrils. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, and now have been using a CPAP for about 18 months. No problems with insurance covering everything. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Meet with surgeon!
Briswife15 replied to shellyk018's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you take any meds bring a list of them. You may want to ask the surgeon how many surgeries s/he has performed, complication rates, and be prepared to discuss any comorbidities and GERD. Good luck! I met with my surgeon in May and was also so excited to get the process going. Next week is my final nutrition visit then they submit to insurance!! Digestion, small bites, and chewing?
Briswife15 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My team has me preparing for after bypass surgery by practicing taking small bites and chewing each one 30 times. I imagine this is because my new pouch won't be holding much food and it makes it easier to digest. My question is are we always going to have to chew food 30 times because the duodenum is bypassed thus decressing the digestion of food? Do you bypass folks who are months out tske normal nites, and chew normally? What is the effect in your digestion of having food ho straight to the jejunum. Sorry if I spelled that wrong! The age old question...
Briswife15 replied to ZGal's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Do you have reflux or GERD? I am going with bypass rather than the sleeve because I have pretty significant reflux even while on meds. Also, as irrational as it seems, I don't like the fact that with the sleeve they remove most of your stomach. With bypass they leave it in, just make a separate small pouch. I guess I'm weird! Good luck with your decision. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
