Snoring and sleep apnea
Briswife15 replied to angie_is_losing_it's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely mention the past gasping for air even if it has been a while. You could be stopping breathing in your sleep and not be aware of it. I didn't feel like I was gasping, but stopped breathing many times an hour and didn't even know. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

March 27th surgery date
Briswife15 replied to 49Nash's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, Tracy, I'm having bypass on March 27th, too! My name is Sarah and I live in Connecticut. I just turned 57, am 5' 3, weigh about 235 and am hoping to lose 100 lbs at least, but getting healthy for me is more important than the number on the scale. I have a bunch of comorbidities. Thanks for starting this thread. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I had the same gassy problem with Premier Protein and decided it was the lactose... I think I can eat yogurt and cheese, but high concentration of lactose sends me running to the bathroom! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Fighting addictions pre-op/post-op
Briswife15 replied to AZhiker's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Azhiker, what great advice! I'm a very "addictive " person, and could use to eliminate caffeine, sugar, snacky foods, etc. in the 5 weeks til my surgery. I had been just eating what I want, but more discipline is needed! Thanks for positng this. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

How’d you Choose? Sleeve v.s. Bypass?
Briswife15 replied to NotActive1234's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor wouldn't do the sleeve on me because I have reflux disease not well controlled by meds. He said the sleeve would make the reflux worse. In addition, i preferred the bypass because although it seems more drastic, i think for me it will be more effective. Having bypass 3/27/19. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
There's like 4 of us now on March 27th! Me too! Welcome and best of luck to you!

6 month diet program - Anthem
Briswife15 replied to soccermom2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Anthem BCBS, too. I have been approved for surgery and slso had the 6 month physician supervised diet program. One month I gained like 10 lbs and lost it the following month. I still got approved, so don't worry, but don't gain 5 lbs every month!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
March 2019 group?
Briswife15 replied to Briswife15's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi, featherbird007, that's great! We're surgery buddies! I'm having gastric bypass, how about you? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Well, I finished all my requirements in December, got approved in January but couldn't schedule my surgery until March 27th because I am moving to a new house, and it's just too much. Now I've got this time on my hands and have lost motivation to watch what I eat, and I'm nervous about this massive life change that's before me!! Any words of encouragement? Thanks, Sarah aka Briswife15 Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Getting cold feet, normal?
Briswife15 replied to Briswife15's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi, to you all! Thanks for your advice and words of wisdom! I think I need to get my mindset back on track instead of having perpetual food funerals! I should also go to one of ny group's support groups to remotivate myself. Glad this forum is here!! -

I've heard good things about the Instant Pot and am thinking of getting one. There are just 2 of us at home. Should I get the 6 quart or 3 quart? If we want to cook a roast is the bigger size better? Any tips or advice? Thanks! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

March 27th bypass for me! I'm so excited even though it's a long way off. Couldn't do February because we're moving. Is there a March 2019 bypass group yet,? I couldn't find one when I searched. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Moving house soon. When to have surgery?
Briswife15 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello! Need advice. We just sold our home and bought another. Closing is February 28th. Im meeting with surgeon on January 8th to sign consent and select a surgery date. I don't know if January is all booked, but if it's not, I need advice on whether I should try to schedule surgery in late January, and move in late February, or If I should move first, get settled, and have surgery in late March. Just not sure when I'll feel like myself again after surgery. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Moving house soon. When to have surgery?
Briswife15 replied to Briswife15's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you all for your replies and advice!! Good suggestions. I will pack and move in February and then have surgery in March after I'm all settled in my new house. Having surgery right before moving would be too much!
