Briswife15 replied to 49Nash's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, Tereza, welcome! I had gastric bypass on the 27th, so Monday is day 5. My stats are the same as yours. I gained 10 lbs of water weight in the hospital and am not yet down to my surgery weight of 229. I am 5' 3.5". Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

T2 diabeter before surgery, now glucose is 59, help
Briswife15 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just had gastric bypass on Wednesday so I'm 4 days out, and off all diabetes medication. I'm only on clear liquids and protein shakes, and they have very low sugar. How do I get my blood glucose up to at least 70?? If I eat too much sugar I'll have dumping syndrome. Any ideas? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Thank you. My problem was that it was 7 pm on Sunday night, and hubs and I were really worried. No one to call. I had a shake with a little carbs and sugar, and brought it up without dumping. Will call my doc today, as it's still low. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Yes! I had gastric bypass on March 27th and also have a bad pain on the left side under my rib cage. It goes down towards my waist, too. I guess it is just inflammationon the abdominal wall. Hope it goes away for both of us soon! Stay well. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi, I had my RNY surgery on March 27th, too. My abdomen is still quite painful, especially on the left under my ribcage. I think pain is normal for 1 to 2 weeks. Like the other posters said, take your pain pills and try gasx. Hope you feel better soon! Hang in there. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Don't you also have to take calcium? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I have BC, and needed Either a diagnosis of Morbid Obesity OR obesity with 2 co morbidities, such as Diabetes and severe sleep apnea. Without those 2 co-morbities they won't approve you at a low BMI. I'm sorry you're going thru this. I know it is really discouraging. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel pretty good except for a sharp pinching, stabbing under left breast. That's the only really painful area. Went for 3 walks today, and drank about 90 ounces! How are you feeling? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I know what you mean! Drinking is so easy, if it wasn't for the gas pain and twinges in my abdomen I'd wonder if he even did the surgery!! Have had 55 oz today, and it's mid afternoon. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi, yes, I came home from the hospital on Friday. Spent 2 nights there. Today is better than yesterday!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Great! Welcome to the club!! That hospital brith needs salr, in my opinion!! Hang in there and good luck. I'm 3 days out and doing great! I wish you the same. -
I just saw your post about juicing. Number one, ask your team. Veggies may be too riugh on your new tummy, and two, there's not a lot of protein in veggie juice. They want us focusing on water, then protein. Good luck. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hang in there, and be patient with your new anatomy, and yourself. I too, just had surgery. 3 days ago! I had to drink a certain amount before I could leave the hospital. Walking even when you don't feel like it will help with the gas pain. Are they giving you pain and antinausea pills? You got this! Just hang tight. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh, they are very different! They use a sugar substitute called Allulose. They're dipped in a coating, like chocolate or vanilla, and are soooo yummy! You should try them.

Thank you! Mine went great! Spending 2 nights in the hospital then on my way home. Pain is minimal, gas pain is moderate, nausea under control. -
Had my surgery today! The RNY took 2.5 hours, and all went well! The worst part is no water until tomorrow and I am so thirsty! I'll be here until Friday of the drinking goes well tomorrow. Best wishes to all who had surgery this month! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
