    Cigna- Requirements and Timeline

I'd contact Cigna directly and ask about their requirements. It is almost June, and many insurers have a 3-6 month waiting period where you need to be having monthly dietitian and nutrition visits. I imagine You'll need a psych evaluation, cardiac clearance, etc. Getting it done by the end of July will be tough, I think. But good luck. I initially wanted DS, but my surgeon and his group do not perform it. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery is Tomorrow!

Good luck, you got this. It'll be fine. When you wake up you'll be sore, so ask for pain meds. Try not to be anxious [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I didn't cheat, either, but you should be fine unless you totally fell off the wagon and cheated for days. One slip up shouldn't hurt things. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Will I ever be normal again!?

What issues are you having with food? Nausea, vomiting? Its still early in your journey. If it makes you feel any better I'm 7 weeks post RNY gastric bypass and still on protein shakes only! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Newbie

Oh, while you're in the hospital make sure you walk, walk, walk. It will make you feel better and get the gas out. Also, after the first day, they will make you sip fluids as much as you can. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Newbie

Hi! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I'm 7 weeks out from my RNY gastric bypass. You don't need too much on the hospital. Chap stick, phone charger, tablet and charger if you have one. A pillow for the ride home. The bumps in the road will hurt. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    First pureed meal

How far post surgery are you? There's no harm in going back to liquids for a week and try purees again then. Not a race, but a marathon. Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I have severe stenosis (stricture) post gastric bypass, and it started at 3 weeks. Worst my surgeon has ever seen. I am now 7 weeks post surgery and just got home from my third endoscopy with dilation to try to stretch it. So, not to scare you, but maybe you have a stricture. Are you nauseous and vomiting? If so, that's a clear sign. Pain, not so much. You could also have an ulcer. Hope it's something simple and you feel better soon. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I took 4 weeks off after my gastric bypass. I was happy to have the time, but probably could have gone back after three weeks. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Bypass v’s Sleeve..... help!

I had bypass for the same reasons as Mousecat88. I have or had a sweet tooth and being afraid of dumping will keep me on the straight and narrow. I also had reflux. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Tespo Vitamins

Glad you can tolerate the flavor. I had the Tespo and hated the flavor. Threw my machine in the trash!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    No weight loss since surgery!

I gained ten pounds of water weight in the hospital from the IVs. So it took me quite a while to get back to my surgery weight. Maybe you also gained weight in the hospital. Are you walking daily? Getting your protein? I'm a slow loser, so I can sympathize with you. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Knee pain after surgery..

Just want to suggest cortisone injections for your knees. Mine were so bad my life was miserable. I got bilateral injections and the pain went away 100% that was 2.5 months ago, and my knees are still feeling good, Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Dog Walking Belt

Hmmm. Sounds to me like it would be painful for a week or two. After my bypass my abdomen was quite tender and going over bumps in the car hurt. Now, I realize that is not the same as having 4 dogs leashed to your belly, but, I think you'll be sore. Good luck with your surgery and recovery! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

How is MGB different to RNY help

Mikeyy, one thing to consider is that some onsurance companies don't cover the MGB. I dont believe my insurance company covered it. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Energy after surgery?

Hi Ruth9454, I had exactly the same fear, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that life after WLS is not like before WLS. What I mean is that before when I reduced calories I would feel weak and shaky and hungry. After my gastric bypass I have no sensation of hunger and I am consuming between 400 and 500 calories a day and I feel great. Energy is fine, no shaking or weakness or headaches. I can't really explain it, but that's how it is for me. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Well, I'm feeling a wee bit discouraged. Had my second endoscopy today. First one was ten days ago. Surgeon said I was the worst case he had ever seen in 19 years of practice. Not a statistic I wanted to hear. They couldn't perform any stretching because of ulcerations and swelling, so he gave me a large dose of steroids and they woke me up. They want to get the opening to 11 mm, and mine is around 8 right now. They can't get the 9mm scope thru the opening. He says is repeat endoscopies don't work we will have to wait 4 months and re operate to redo the connection between my pouch and intestines. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. Hi. I just had RNY gastric bypass 6 weeks ago. Was type 2 diabetic prior to the surgery, but they took me off my 2 diabetes meds immediately and my sugars have been in the 80s and 90s. In the first werk, they went down to 60, but that was improved by having more protein shakes. I also had GERD, which is why I chose the bypass. Good luck to you!
