    What vitamins to take?

I agree with catwoman7. The only thing I don't take extra of is iron, as my bariatric multivitamin has around 45 mg. I take the multi vitamins, calcium citrate with D, and a sublingual B12. I had the bypass. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Cpap and sleeve

Well, I had bypass, but yes, I was using my CPAP before surgery and still use it after my surgery. No gas, burping or farting! I think you'll be fine. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

How far/long were you walking at this stage? btw, I'm getting roughly 75 gm protein a day and meeting my water goals. Thanks!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Bypass or Sleeve?

You could search sleeve vs bypass. There are lots of posts on this topic. , and you'll get lots of good advice. I picked bypass because I have GERD and also wanted the possible dumping to keep me in line. Best wishes to you. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Helpful article for the future! I'm 8 weeks post surgery, but am actively learning about the next steps. Thank you for posting it! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    One month post op RNY

Seems quite fast to me!! I'm 8 weeks post RNY and only down 28 lbs. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Don't be offended, but I'm shocked that any doctor would do RNY outpatient! I had RNY 8 weeks ago, and was in the hospital 3 days and 2 nights. The first 24 hours I wasnt allowed anything by mouth, and was on round the clock antinausea meds and an IV. I cannot imagine how I would have done if I had to go home the afternoon of my procedure. But. That being said, all surgeons are different, and maybe yours has a lot of experience with outpatient surgery. Best to you. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

How long did you take off work?

I have a desk job, and took off 4 weeks. I did it because I felt I needed time to adjust to the food stagez, fatigue, decrease in calories. Etc. Im glad I took the time, but probably could have gone back after 3 weeks. Not any earlier. But that's just me!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I'm 5'3" so pretty short. I started out before surgery at 229 pounds. And a BMI of about 42, I think. I'm only 8 weeks post surgery. My insurance is Anthem BCBS and they covered it 100%. I've lost 28 pounds. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I have Anthem BCBS and agree with notmyname. I just had gastric bypass 8 weeks ago, and Anthem approved without any input from my PCP. I filled out lots of paperwork for my surgeon which included my own list of how many times I tried to lose weight on my own, and failed. Presumably my surgeon submitted tht info to Anthem. But again, i did Not need anything from PCP. Good luck, and don't give up! I'm rooting for you! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sweets

Frustr8, is your ulceration at the connection between pouch and jejunum? You could have the ulcerated sections removed and the attachment re done. That's what they may have to do for me if I don't heal up and if my stricture doesn't go away. They won't do it for me for another 4 months though. Having my 4th endoscopy with dilation on Friday! Cigna- Requirements and Timeline

I read through that...it sounds encouraging! No monthly nutritionist visits, which is usually what slows people down. Hoping you get it done in your time frame! Best to you!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
