Yes, I have marginal ulcers where my pouch was joined to my intestines. I also have a stricture, which has been severe. So it is hard to tell which caused the most pain and nausea, but I think it wad the stricture. I had pressure in my pouch like I was going to throw up. Hope this helps. Are you on a PPI? How much excercise after surgery?
Briswife15 replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon suggested (strongly) that I get in one hour of walking a day, in 2 to 3 separate walks. I have yet to get there! I walk 30 minutes in the morning and workout with a personal trainer 2 times a week for an hour. Im 3 months post op. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hormone increase and too much energy? Anybody? (Women)
Briswife15 replied to 70worm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry that you and your wife are going thru this. The super high energy level, excessive spending, drinking, and texting when she should be sleeping still sound like Bipolar Disorder to me. But, she probably wouldn't seek help even if it was. Some people like the manic phase. Hang in there, and I hope things get better for you. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Why dont they give appetite suppresants for the liquid faze
Briswife15 replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people, myself included, lose their sensation of hunger early on. I'm 11 weeks post op, and only recently started having a feeling that I should eat. It doesn't feel the same as hunger did before my surgery. I guess for those who still feel ravenous an appetite suppressant might be helpful! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Is anyone having trouble with the mobile app today, or is it just me? When I click on the tab for all posts, or unread posts it comes up blank. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Looking into getting the rny surgery, how have your experiences been so far ?
Briswife15 replied to jfhh1234's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm 10 weeks out from RNY gastric bypass, and have no regrets even though I developed an uncommon complication. That being said, serious complications are rare. I am happy with my choice, and rate of weight loss. go for it!! Best wishes. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

What can I take to Sleep ?
Briswife15 replied to Nikkim531's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried Melatonin? It works well, or maybe you should ask your doctor.... try to be more active. It will help you sleep. Good luck ! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I don't drink alcohol, so I can't comment on not feeling well, but my surgeon doesn't recommend that bariatric patients drink alcohol for that very reason. We metabolize the alcohol very quickly. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi. No side effects. I have had four endoscopies to dilate my stricture and check on the progress of the ulcers. Still very inflammed. Im going back for my 5th one end of this month. I take it 20 minutes before each meal on an empty stomach, and at bedtime. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Nalgene wide mouth bottles so I can get them really clean. Narrower mouth bottles are harder to keep clean. Also, they are BPA free. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Questions about wls
Briswife15 replied to jennifer47's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Like everyone is saying, ask your surgeon. I will tell you that my surgeon would not operate on smokers or anyone who used tobacco products. It really messes with the healing process. Surgeons like successful patients, and you'll be more successful if you're not smoking. I know it's hard!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Having a hard time eating
Briswife15 replied to kitty0422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmmm. I really don't want to scare you, but it sounds like a stricture. You can get an upper GI xray and it will show if you have a stricture. You need to get your doctor to take you seriously! Ask him if he thinks you have a stricture. Please take care. You can always pm me if you want. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Having a hard time eating
Briswife15 replied to kitty0422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kitty0422, how far post surgery are you? What type of surgery did you have? I have a stricture and I am 10 weeks post RNY gastric bypass. My problems started around 3 1/2 weeks post op. I was incredibly nauseous and had pressure in my throat and pouch. I could not tolerate shakes or anything. Do you have any symptoms besides vomiting?
