1st fill today, confused on what happened
bamagal4ever replied to eejaydiva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your port is actually under that scar. When you are lying down, it moves below the scar. My doctor has done all of my fills under fleuro in the endocopy dept of the main hospital. He can see exactly were the port is and were to put the needle. So he don't have to poke around and guess where anything is. I like that about him too. Hugs, Tammy P -
:smile:Hi All, We are going to have our second retreat July 18-20, here in TN at Montgomery Bell State Park. If you are interested you can go to losing2live.org and read all about it. We have reserved enough space for 75 this year, so if you are at all interested you'd better be getting in now. We had a great time last year and just wanted to get together and do it again this year. It's for anyone that's pre-op. post-op or thinking about having the surgery. Hope to see some of you there!! Can anyone feel the tube leading to Port?
bamagal4ever replied to Luscious's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never heard of that before. My doctor does all of his under endoscopy so he can find everything and not have to "guess" just were the port is. Plus they give you an x-ray of your band. It's like they give you when you have an ultrasound. I've got 2 so far and I keep them with me to show people that are interested in having the surgery. It's neat!! It's like showing off a pre-pic of your baby or something. I don't feel my tubing at all. I guess mine is deep in there or floating just right so I cannot feel it. Banded 4/14 Doing good.....
bamagal4ever replied to Jesusislove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the LOSER'S SIDE!!! Glad to have you here amongst us. I'm always excited when someone has their surgery and is starting this wonderful journey. The best advice that I can give to you concerning gas is to walk, walk and walk some more. That is really the only thing that helps it to move and get out of your body. When I had my surgery all my gas was in my shoulder under the collar bone. That was aggravating too. Good luck with everything and keep us posted on how you are doing. Hugs, Tammy P Tammy's Journey -
How many ounces of full liquid are you allowed?
bamagal4ever replied to TxChelsey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Chelsey, Welcome to the LOSER'S BENCH!!! What a great place to be, right? All the doctors are different about post surgery meals. For instance, for me I had to do 4 days of Clear Liquids, 3 days of full liquids, 3 days of blended and then on to stage 4, which is regular food. I couldn't eat grits, applesauce or anything like that in my diet. I could or can, when I get my fills eat sf Jello, sf popsicles, Carb Master yogurt(which is high in protein) and things like that. I have found a real good protein that I love and have been on since April 07. It's called Body Fortress. You can find it at Wal-Mart and it's usually around $15 for a 2 lb jug. It taste like a chocolate milkshake....my favorite!! I know what you're thinking, "It comes from Wally World it can't be good!!" But, it is and I've had good results with it too. As far as the burping goes after you have Lap Band....that's NORMAL!! I belch and burp all the time now and they don't hurt the band, BTW. You have to get in at least 64ozs of water, or fluids a day. You have to stay hydrated!! Believe me it's no fun getting dehydrated, it happened to me right after surgery. I was in the hospital for another week after I went home. Tammy P Tammy's Journey -

Sleep study and liquid diet questions
bamagal4ever replied to rxdspncr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be glad that you're not having to do the sleep apnea test. I guess your doctor figure's that with the Lap Band surgery if you had sleep apnea it wouldn't be for long, so the study would be worthless really. Just another expense for you. And about the liquid diet before surgery, that's different because of the Dr. you choose to do your surgery. It's really up to him. I had to do one for 7 days when I had mine. And that's to shrink your liver so the surgery will be a lot easier on the doctor doing it and on you too. Hope this helps answer some of your questions. Tammy P -
Sounds like a great place to me. I'm not no thief, but I wouldn't dare think to dig in a cat litter box for valuables...lol. Good luck in getting rid of that cat and collecting something to put in your box. Tammy P
