  1. Happy 42nd Birthday flyaway!

  2. Hi,

I was so glad to hear someone else had the same experience with the "heart attack" like pain that I did. I thought I was going crazy.I'm going to ask the doctor about it when I see him Aug 7. I was banded 7/11 and lost ten lbs in twelve days. Except for that one time I was doing good. Up to pureed now. You would be suprised at what I can pureed. Skinny Grandma

  3. gosh, I'm so glad to hear others have experienced the same thing. It's so scary! I also wondered about acid reflux?
  4. ok, folks - need to know if anyone has experienced this: surgery on May 19, moving along just fine, had first fill 3 weeks ago. About 1 week ago, started to have this pain under my left breast that radiates through to my back under my left shoulder blade. I was scared enough to go to the doc - my primary did an EKG and said it looked fine. My Lap Band doc did a upper GI swallow test - no results yet. Anybody have this pain too? Is it from my band? I admit I've had a horribly stressful couple weeks and have been eating too much. Is it from overeating? HELP!
  5. Maybe you have some adhesions internally from the surgery, and the pain is referred to the "area". I know that during my period, I have weird pulling areas I didn't have before, and I think it may be some scarring/pulling from the internal incisions.

    question about coffee

I'm six weeks out and have been drinking alittle 1/2 caff in the morning. I know, I know... But, it's my only vice I have left! I have 2 little ones and don't get the sleep I should. Haven't had any trouble - in fact, it is soothing in the AM when the band is tight.

    Are you enjoying the ride??

It's really an interesting journey. I feel like a baby learning to eat all over again. Sometimes it sucks - but... having my husband, who loves me no matter what, say "You look smaller" or buying one size smaller clothes, or being able to go on a 2 mile walk with my family is making the ride great!

    Lifting a baby post-op

HI - I got a 2-step stepstool for my 2 yr old, and she climbs up to her changing table and into the crib, with my "spotting"her. It really hard not to lift them when they want you to - just tough it out. I did lots of playing on the floor with her too so she'd still feel like I was lovin' on her alot. Good luck!
  9. I promise you'll be able to eat again. I was banded on 5/19, and felt just like you do for the first couple weeks. liquids were even a struggle. But, as soon as my stomach swelling went down, hunger returned and I started eating little bits of mushies. You'll do just fine!

    Diet Soda, Post-Lap Band

I was a Diet Coke Freak! I kinda miss it - it was comforting, which is weird. What I miss more is BEER! I love me some microbrew!!!
  11. It is sooo hard not to lift, snuggle, carry my 2 yr old daughter. She can climb in my lap for books at bedtime, and I got a two step stepstool so she can climb to her changing table and into her crib. I notice that she is really irritable, and I think it's because I haven't been able to do the normal things I do with her. I think she's feeling alittle neglected! So, Don't lift! be creative - it's tough but you'd hate to rip stitches or pull something after coming this far! Good luck!
  12. I know!!! We are going to a family wedding, which I normally would dread because I am heavy. When I was shopping for an outfit, I actually tried on a size 20 and it fit! I was a solid 24/26. I feel so much better about myself. In actuality, I probably don't look very different on the outside - I've lost 29 lbs. - but inside I feel so different and proud, and feel kinda cute now
  13. I felt the exact same way. The first week was tough with the pain, gas, feeling weak, etc. I completely had times when I thought "why the heck did I do this?" Now I am 3 weeks out and feel great and really excited about what is to come. It'll pass, I promise. You did a really loving thing for yourself, taking care of your health!
  14. what about taking it with a little milk? I have a blood pressure med that I have to take with food or milk, and milk has been just fine after the band.
  15. Me too! I'm going on vacation and have to wait for the fill. I'm freaking out because I was zipping along on the liquid diet, but once mushies came in, no weight loss. Plus, I remember what real food tastes like and am getting HUNGRY. I am going to the crabcake/rich food heaven that is my mother-in-law's house for vacation and am very nervous!!!
