  1. Great Advice! TY. I know your right. I think i have just been starting to feel defeated because of the hungry and I am miserable fighting hunger all the time and i don't want to gain the weight back. I need to push forward and make good choices.
  2. So, I am 8 1/2 months out revision from sleeve to bypass. I have been doing great up until the last month and my hunger and cravings has returned with a vengeance. I am hungry ALL the time! I am drinking a lot to try and push it back but my head hunger and physical hunger can be out of control. I have gotten down to almost the same exact spot that i got to at my lowest with the sleeve (and wasn't able to lost anymore) and now and i have gained and lost the same 4 lbs over and over for 2 months. Thoughts? Advice?
  3. Well group we are 9 months out this month. How is everyone doing? I am happy with my loss but I was really hoping I would make it to goal. I've been at pretty much a stand still for the last 2 months. I lost great the first 7 months but have hit a wall and I have just been gaining and losing the same 3-5lbs for 2 months. My diet hasn't been perfect I admit but I haven't gone overboard and I am very active. Just wondered if everyone else has slowed down or starting to struggle? How is your restriction? How much is everyone eating at this point?

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

I work Monday -Through Friday as a nurse and we own our own business that is open 6 days a weeks. So, i am working 7 days a week (5 of those days are 12-14 hour days). However on the weekends i only have to work at our business so maybe i am do something then? My schedule is just so crazy with my nurses job and all my other time goes into our business that I am struggling stick to the plan with IF. I wake up with good intentions but my hunger gets the best of me..lol. The worst part is i know that if i can get on board and do it the hunger would get better and i wouldn't have the cravings as much.

Six months post-op+ : The Sophomores Thread

I have played with this a little bit but i struggle with my time frame. I am a nurse full time and i work 6-2 everyday and then go to our business and work 2-630. So, we don't used get to eat dinner until 730-8ish which i hate but i don't have much choice. So, because i get up at 5 and start again struggle to hold out on eating until 11 or 12 let alone 2. I just need to push myself more I guess and quit making excuses...lol I am just going to have to make the commitment to do IF and see what happens.

I feel like my body doesn't want to go below 171. I have seen people post about there bodies having set points that were tough to get beyond. Anyone else experience this? I am a revision from sleeve to bypass. When I had my sleeve I got down to 168 for a short period and then I bounced back and maintained around 170-175. Now with the revision to bypass I have gotten down to 171. I fluctuation up and down 2-4 lbs, but I just seem stuck at a plateau. My diet is not perfect but I stick pretty close on my Keto/low carb diet. I have dabbled with intermitted fasting and was able to lose a pound or 2 when I had fluctuated up but I remain in the 170s. Don't get me wrong I am happy with what I have done it just seems that other seem that I look at others with similar stats to mine just blow by 170s and are in the 130, 140, 150 range so easily.
  8. Do you notice a difference taking the Chromium supplement? Does it help with your hunger/cravings?

    Sugar Free Tea Triggering cravings??

Sound good! I will give it a try. Thanks! On a good note I made it through my first day without the tea. I drank plenty of water and I survived just fine. I definitely think i could feel a difference. Craving and hunger where definitely less in the evening. I didn't have a crazed urge to snack, and I am down a pound this morning. May be a coincidence, I guess we will see how the rest of the week goes!

    Sugar Free Tea Triggering cravings??

Yep..I am afraid this is me... Fake sugars are engineered to taste even stronger than the real thing. “Artificial sweeteners are designed specifically to be exceedingly sweet, upwards of hundreds to thousands of times sweeter than table sugar,” says Julieanna Hever, a dietitian and author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition. In fact, the chemical blend that Splenda is made of is engineered to be 600 times sweeter than real sugar, according to The Sugar Association. “Because of this, taste buds acclimate to a heightened threshold of sweetness, perpetuating sugar cravings, and making it exceedingly challenging to overcome sugar addiction,” Hever says.
  11. So I am just over 5 months post op revision to Bypass and I am coming to a block/stall/halt..... whatever it may be in my weight loss. I only lost 2.6 lbs last month. I do great during the day but in the evening and night my cravings and hunger/head hunger are out of control, which makes me snack and crave sweets. But, I really think that the sugar free tea that I am drinking in the evenings is causing my cravings to be worse. I only have water during the day, but after work and at night I drink this tea (which I have a bit of an addiction to) It is sugar free, calorie free, carb free, but when I drink it I seen to have really bad cravings for sweets and sometimes salty snacks. I believe it has splenda in it. I don't know if it is the time of day that is my issues or the tea triggering an issue. So lord help me I am going to go cold turkey. No tea for one week and see what happens. I dearly love my sugar free tea so I am a bit panicked but I have to get the scale moving again!!!!!

    Shirataki Noodles

Any one tried these? A friend recommended them and says they have no smell at all and take on whatever taste you pair them with. I want to give them a try! Hardly, any calories or carbs!

ALMOST 5 MONTHS POST OP - STRUGGLING

You are right! I have been more lax than I should be because of my evening craving being out of control. But I am giving myself some tough love and I am going to make changes to keep myself on track!
  15. I am 4 months and 3 weeks post op revision from Sleeve to bypass. I just feel like I am struggling and in a rut with losing. I have lost 54.2 (39.2 since surgery) which I am happy with, but my weight loss has really slowed down big time. I don't know if i am stalling or if my weight loss is done. I only lost 4.2 lbs last month and only 1.6 lbs so far this month. The last 2 weeks i have gained and lost same 2 lbs over and over. I am trying not to get frustrated and down about it, but i am down about it. I know we aren't supposed to compare ourselves to other.....BUT i see others with similar starting STATS as me and they are breezing right past me with their weight lost. I hope i am just losing slowly, or maybe stalling, and i will continue to tick away to my goal, my body just does not seem to want to cooperate. I do great with my eating during the day but i struggle with night snacking/grazing which i am working on, I know this is an issue for me that i need to control. My cravings and head hunger seem to be strong in the evening. i am just worried because my weight loss "honeymoon" is ticking by and i am so discouraged that my body is stuck at this weight and i won't meet my goal. I guess Just needed to vent some today. This too shall pass.... I Hope!
