    5 days post-op

When I started getting hunger pains I tried drinking more Water and that made them go away. I am almost 5 weeks out and I don't really get hungry-but I make myself eat to get the Protein in. As for feeling full-I have not really felt full because I am watching my portions very closely based on what my NUT instructed. I have only hit my 60grams of protein once without using a Protein Drink. If I am close I don't do a drink but if I am far off then I do. Good luck and hang in there-before you know it the liquid phase will be over.

    Appetite

I eat 3x per day too. I am 4 weeks out. I exceed fluid requirements but still don't hit the protein mark on a regular basis.

    First Bite Of Solid Food

I have not had any problems with solid foods yet-I am 4 weeks post op now. I always cut my meat tiny-like really tiny do no chance of it getting stuck. When I had the band my dr said to make sure all foods were smaller than a dice in size and I always have. I DO NOT want anything to get stuck. Good luck.

    Double Chins?

Today is my 4 week anniversary for surgery and my double chin is gone. I am only down 15 pounds but I am starting to notice the loss in all the same areas you mentioned. Good luck-I am sure you will notice it going away soon.

    QUESTIONS...

Try milk of magnesia I take it once a week to keep me regular. The more you drink the less constipated you will be.

    QUESTIONS...

You are getting dehydrated. You will get head hunger if you don't drink enough. The color of your urine is indicating that a well. Shoot for 100oz today to get yourself back on track. Good luck!

    Eating mashed beans sooner

Check your list from the NUT/surgeon recommendation. For me, that was not allowed until 2 weeks post surgery.

    Recovery must-haves

In the hospital I was glad I packed a night mask (my roommate slept with here overhead light on) and ear phones (she also had visitors 12 hours a day). All the other suggestions I agree with as well.
  9. I had a myomectomy 7 years ago and the lap band 6 years ago-no problems with my BP 3 weeks ago. Some of the same scars were used too

    Help!

I suggest walking. I started walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes 2x per day and then worked up to more as the days went on. Walking around the living room on every other commercial and climbing the stairs after every show to get in extra steps and make it a little different. I will be 3 weeks out on Tuesday. Yesterday I went bowling. I do not feel like I hurt myself but I am sore today. I probably should not have done that but it felt really good to interact. It was only 20 throws of an 8lb ball but I had not bowled in probably 20 years. Hind sight I would not recommend doing that-I should not have taken any chance on hurting myself. Trial and error...as long as I learn from my errors...
  11. Hi. I need help. My NUT gave me a dessert recipe for fat free ricotta with raspberries and honey to make for easter. I didn't look at the ingredients until today. It calls for 8 low calorie low carb gourmet cookies. Has anyone bought these and if so do you have a brand you like? I want to get them while I am shopping today if possible. Thanks!

1st day on next phase-need to slow down

Hi. Each surgeon has different guidelines. The goal for me is 60 grams of protein and since I can't each much I use the protein shakes. Many people on here do. I use EAS chocolate fudge muscle build and pure protein vanilla. I may branch out and try another type this week, but I do like these two
  13. Thursday was the first day on my next phase of soft foods. For breakfast I had one scrambled egg. Snack of string cheese. For lunch (around 3) one tablespoon of canned chicken shredded with a touch of mayo. Dinner (around 6:30) one tablespoon of ground beef with gravy. I had 12 cups of liquids throughout the day. I did not have a BM all day-but I did each of the 3 prior days. I woke up Friday so uncomfortable. I felt constipated/stuffed. I had a fruit cup for breakfast on Friday. I know this was not protein but I thought the fiber would help me go. It did-2x and I started to feel better. I took some MOM too. For lunch I had peanut butter off the spoon. I pushed even more fluids all day. I definitely did not hit my protein goals but this morning I am feeling SOOOOO much better. I think I will start with a Greek yogurt for breakfast today and limit my soft food to only one meal instead of every meal. I know it is trial and error-so glad I feel better.

    Mobile apps

My fitness pal is great. I have found some of their blog posts good too. I have my sister and daughter linked on it so we can encourage each other. I definitely recommend it...very easy to track protein.

    Day 5 post-op, starving

You may not think it is head hunger but it is. I also had the same on day 5 post op-thought I could eat a horse! Take some extra water...add flavoring or some bouillon. Hang in there!

No longer living on 300lb Blvd.

    Congrats, that is wonderful!!!
  18. Today marks two weeks. The good: down 9.5 pounds, no issues with BM, taking all Vitamins, meeting liquid goals, feel good, pants fitting better, getting more energy and yesterday I ate lunch out with my hubby (panera we shared a pic two-I had 1/2 of the creamy tomato Soup (no croutons) and he had the rest). The bad: getting bored with yogurt and I just can't tolerate "sugar free" anything, not meeting Protein goal every day and I miss eating out. I am a band to BP so I know my weight loss will be slower than others so I am okay with where I am. Every Monday I take pics of myself in my undies (for me and no one else to see) and I am starting to see a difference. I am looking forward to my next "stage" and visit with my NUT on Thursday. Here's to hoping everyone has a terrific Tuesday.

    2 weeks post op

I am 2 weeks post op too. That happened to me at one week. Fluids and the need for a BM was my issue...all good now and the scale is headed down again. Try to get all your protein in too!
  20. Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way, hang in there!
  21. Try to stick to the plan. After hearing some horror stories from when people deviated I am not sure I would want that to happen so I don't plan to deviate too much. But if you are losing 2 pounds per week that sounds about right. It may catch up with you at some point. Good luck.
  22. I would think cranberry too. I will be vacationing in 4 weeks so I am looking forward to other responses too! Have fun

    Nervous

Good luck! Hopefully your approval will go smoothly and you will have a date soon. I too chose the BP even though initially I chose the sleeve. I had the band for 6 years and only lost 30 pounds at my best. When I decided to have a revision I started to research and the BP has the best results documented. I didn't want to chance the need for another revision so I chose BP. Keep preparing yourself and all will be good!
  24. I read this article on myfitnesspal and thought it was good. I like some of these suggestions so I thought I would share. I hope you find it helpful. http://blog.myfitnesspal.com/how-to-break-free-of-emotional-overeating/?native_client=1
