  1. I have not had any UTIs but as mentioned above, if you don't keep your fluids up you can get a UTI or worse kidney stones. Keep up your fluids. Good luck!

    Dumping

Oatmeal....not sure why, it is on the approved list of food but for some reason about 15 minutes after eating it I start to feel nauseous and have to run to the bathroom and it lasts for about an hour. I love(Ed) oatmeal but no more for me! Good luck!

    Trouble sleeping

I am having trouble sleeping too. I have my 3 month blood work in the next couple of weeks so I am curious to see if my thyroid might be out of whack too.

    Stalling

I had my survey on 3/10/15. Tuesday was my 8 week post op date. I have not lost any weight since 4/22/15. Liquids and vitamins have not been a problem at all but hitting my protein goal was tough at first. I have hit it for the last 8 days (except yesterday) and the scale has not moved. I am now able to eat just about anything but I am not that hungry so I need to pay attention to the clock and make myself eat. My calories average around 500-600 each day and I know that is too low. I am getting a little frustrated but I know it will come off eventually. It is good to see others experience to help us through these stalls....good luck everyone!

    Stall!

I am 8 weeks post op and the scale has not moved in two weeks....holding strong knowing it will move once I start to move more...I need to exercise! Good luck!

Only 3# lost, 9 days since Sleeve!

Today is my 8 week mark and I am down 21 since surgery (42 total). I am a much slower looser than most on here. I was 222on the morning of surgery. I do not exercise every day and I know that is probably a big part of the issue along with often being shy of my protein goal. I am a work in progress. I am going to my first support group tonight and hope to learn something new. Good luck on your journey!

    Good vitamin with NO IRON!

I think the iron is necessary if you had RYN. I too have been a bit constipated but I have been taking 1-2stool softness daily and that has helped tremendously. Good luck!

    Miserable

I was 16 pounds down at 4 weeks post op too. I am a band to bypass so I was told I would lose slower than a straight bypass so I am okay with it. I know I was not always hitting my protein goal now my exercise goal so I was glad with 16. I am now 6 weeks post and I have been hitting protein goal and a little better with exercise-I have added weights-and I am .3 pounds from hitting onederland...it does get better. Hang in there. Push the fluids and walk walk walk and that will help with the constipation too. Good luck!

I wanna sandwich- 5 weeks out

I had a craving for a sandwich today- I am 6 weeks out- so I took a saltine cracker and put shaved ham and a quarter slice of cheese on top and popped it in the microwave for 15 seconds. I made 4 of these for lunch and it quenched my craving!

One week post op protein makes me sick

I just tried Isopure protein water and it wasn't too bad-I had the fruit punch. It was a little pricey but it was large and had 40 grams of protein so I had half the bottle per day. I was told Walmart has them for less-I bought mine at GNC for $5.49(but if you bought 3 you received 1 free). Good luck!

    I have a travel dilemma...please help

Could you order them online and ship them to your hotel? Or send a request to the hotel concierge and ask if they have them in the area? Good luck!

    Feeling full?

I am almost 6 weeks post op and I don't get the full feeling yet. I actually don't get hungry much. I eat based on the clock and I eat by measurements. Good luck
  15. Well, tomorrow will be 5 weeks post op and I had my first dumping syndrome this morning. I had apple cinnamon oatmeal made with 1% milk (for added protein) and it is on my list of acceptable food. Within 10 minutes of eating it I was in the bathroom. Nauseous, stomach pains, heaving type symptoms (but no vomiting). I have been on the couch between running to the bathroom. Is there anything that will help to make this pass quickly?

    Wedding ring/Engagement ring

My rings are spinning and I am almost 6 weeks post op. I am sure I will need to get them resized eventually. I may just get a ring guard for the interim.

    Protien shakes

Eggs, cottage cheese, chicken, Greek yogurt, steak, string cheese, cheese slices, ground turkey, ground beef. Just a few things I eat regularly-I am fortunate to be able to tolerate all meats-I just cook them medium and cut each piece smaller than a dice and chew, chew, chew. Good luck!

    Pack for the hospital

Chap stick, Pajama pants, headphones and a night mask were my 4 top items used in the hospital. I brought much more but didn't use most of the other stuff.

    Revision Question

Hi I am band to RNY, 5 weeks post op down 19.8 since surgery and 42.8 in total. I was told it would be a little slower in the weight loss for revisions but I am very happy so far. Good luck!

    Protien shakes

I just visited my NP yesterday, 5 week post op RNY, and I have been averaging 45-50g of protein with no protein shakes. She said to drink a shake after dinner until bedtime so I did that to get me over the 60g. This morning I was down 2.8 lbs from yesterday morning (no different activity) so hitting that goal is important. The only bad thing was I had to get up and pee in the middle of the night and I could not fall back to sleep...oh well. Good luck!
  21. Do both devices have the same information on you? Like stated above they need to be comparing the same type of activity for the same type of person to be similar. Good luck.

    First dumping syndrome UGH!

Thanks -no krogers near me but I will check the organic isle at the local store. Maureen-thanks for that idea!

Stalled? or is my body just freaking out?

I am 5 weeks tomorrow and I weigh every morning-but my expectation is not to lose every day-I just want to stay on top of how the choices I am making effect the scale-I.e., if I didn't get in my exercise, protein, water etc. I can say that if I don't hit my water goal I usually don't see the scale move as much as when I do. Good luck.

    First dumping syndrome UGH!

Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely stick to the old fashioned oats going forward-I need the fiber to keep me regular. I have not found pb2 yet at any local grocery store so I will have to remember to order it next time I am in Amazon.

    First dumping syndrome UGH!

I did check the sugar-12 grams and my NUT said to stay under 15 so I thought it was okay. I will stay away from that going forward for sure. It is now 2 hours past and I am feeling better. Just had a hot cup of tea and I feel like I can get moving now. Thank goodness the side effects didn't last too long.
