  1. Looking for advice. My surgery was May 10, 2018 I am down 60 lbs. goal is 100. I have not moved on the scale and I know why it’s from poor choices with food. I workout regularly so that has helped me maintain thankfully. What I am looking for is if anyone has apps they use for gastric sleeve patients that help measure food intake on the daily. I want something motivating as I am in a bit of a slump clearly. I have had two set backs one nasal surgery that had me out for any type of exercise for a month and most recently a stress fracture in my foot. Other than that it’s all food which has always been my struggle hence the surgery for the sleeve. Really just need to push myself to see some movement in the right direction. Thanks In advance for any advice. SW 275.6 GW 175 CW 219
  2. Would love to know what others have done. I had my surgery May 10 down 43 lbs total. SW 275.6 I am losing hair like crazy. My hands are full in the shower then after my brush and throughly the day if I run my hands through. I have long hair as well and am contemplating cutting it short even though I don’t like the look on me.

    Phases are confusing

I could eat mushroom and all cream soups. The key is to strain them after cooking to ensure you only eat the liquid no chunks.
  4. I had the same thing happen one week nothing changed it actually went up a pound. Then boom the following week I dropped more. My doctor said this happens. So hang in there it will be all good!!
  5. I felt the exact same way. I even had zero pain after the surgery day. I actually went to my doctor and joked that this was all a placebo. Give it a few weeks and everything changes. Once you are onto solid food you’ll really notice how little you can eat and the weight will start to drop. On average I’m losing 2lbs a week. Not a lot but it’s in the right direction. Hunger normal?

I was starving the first week as well. It does pass once you get onto more solid food. Protein protein protein is all I can say. Don’t eat anything unless it’s got protein that’s the only thing that helped me. Best of luck. Just know it does get easier.

2 weeks 4 days post op

Not sure what my calorie intake is. My doctor wants 60-90 oz of protein a day so that’s what I try to achieve. Some days are easier than others for sure.
  8. Today was a huge win. I was given the all clear last Thursday at my two week post op to return to the gym. I have a few restrictions. No abs and I must sit when lifting weights to start. I also am able to return to spin. The first week home was an emotional roller coaster but now it’s smooth sailing. I have to say anyone considering this surgery do it. It will change your life for the better. I’m down 25lbs since starting the pre op diet so about a month total time. I can feel it all over and people are now starting to notice. 75 more pounds to go and I know it’s going to happen this year. HW 275.6 SW 257 CW 249.6 GW 175
  9. The rooms here have a lazy hot in then. That and the asking are a huge plus for me so your not flat
  10. How is everyone feeling. I’m actually pleasantly surprised I feel so good. Have been up ever hour peeing, walking. Drink my my water every 15mins. So far so good. All the nerves I had earlier were not worth it.
  11. Waiting to go in and nervous as hell. My stomach is in nots. Not scared of the surgery or after looking forward to the positive changes. Just scared I won’t wake up and I have so much to live for.
  12. Tomorrow is surgery day for me as well 9:30!! Excited, nervous and anxious all at once. Cannot believe it’s here already looking forward to my new life. HW: 275.6 CW: 258.2 GW: 170
  13. You won’t gain on the pre op. It’s designed to cut all sugars out of your body and shrink the liver. I am 11 days in and have lost 14 lbs so far. If anything it kickstarts the weight loss journey
  14. I struggled and even cancelled my May 10 date. But then after reading more and speaking again with the doctor I am ready. I actually wish it was earlier. I have had two people I have told so far try to talk me out and to just diet. That’s not what will work for me. I know in my heart this is going to change me and my life. I see a counsellor who specializes in clients that have Bariatric surgery and that has also helped. The mental impact this change will have will be great. I was told not everyone will be happy for me and many will be jealous. At the end of the day all that matters is that you are happy with this choice. If you are unsure postpone and research more talk to your surgeon..... it has to be right for you and you only.
