    Hair Loss

I was worried about that also. I started Monat hair products when I had surgery (my BFF is a rep). I also work with my hairdresser and she doesn’t process my hair as much. Also try to wash my hair very 2-3 days and not blow dry or do a lot of brushing. While I have had a lot of hair loss, I also have a lot of regrowth. I am coming out of it 5.5 months out. While I have lost a lot of hair, it is not sparse.

    Frustrated with stall

58 pounds is awesome! I agree the stalls are frustrating. Mine last 7-10 days and then pass. It is your body adjusting to the new weight
  4. Fish is hard for me also. It needs to be very moist in order not to get stuck. We need to remember to chew chew chew. I catch myself not chewing enough and getting the back up and pain. I have found that eating in front of the TV or playing a game on my phone helps slow me down and distract me a little.
  5. Yes. I have lost 89 pounds. I am more social and outgoing. More attention in general. It is a weird feeling and looking in the mirror shocks me a or of the time (in a good way).

    Newbie with a couple questions

I am 5 months out. VSG on 4/18/18. 1) my tummy does make more noise now than before but not all the time 2). I have hunger rarely if not ever. I eat because I know I have to. I do get hunger pangs every once in a while but one drink of water takes it away.

    NSV

Had an awesome NSV last week. Went on my first airplane since last year and did not have the issues I normally would have. Seatbelt did not have to be at its biggest, my body was not hanging over each side. The tray table did not touch my stomach. I was comfortable on the 2 5 hour legs of the trip. It was fabulous! Hot flash after food

I have the hot flashes/sweats a lot after I eat. I am 3.5 months out from VSG. Just thought it was a side effect of the surgery.

Where does everyone live? (General area)

    Gilroy, Ca. Sleeved 4/18/18.
  13. Hi all. I was sleeved on 4/18/18 and have been doing ok. I have been meeting my 60 g of protein daily and water intake is about 95% of the time. Weight loss is going slow but I am continuing to lose lbs and inches. My issue is that for the last week my energy level has been so low. I am getting enough sleep but feel constantly tired. I am working out 3-4 times a week. My caloric intake is between 500-600 per day and I really struggle with that because I’m just not hungry. Has anyone else encountered this? I am a total of 60 lbs down so my energy should be up right?

    Low Energy week

Thanks for he reply! Yes I take my vitamins daily. I think you are right about increasing calories and am trying.
  15. Yes! When I went to puréed food that was the first thing I wanted. Scrambled eggs. I too felt like they got stuck. I am 2 months out and still have issues with eggs. I can eat them over easy cooked in a little extra virgin olive oil only every once in a while. Hoping it gets better.

    NSV Today!

I have been a little depressed due to slow weight loss since Surgery (19 lbs) 4/18. However this morning I went to get dressed and grabbed a pair of 16 jeans my sister gave me (not 16w) and they fit perfect! I went into surgery wearing 20W pants! I have not worn non plus sized clothes in 20 years. Made me realize that the scale does not show all of the loss experienced by VSG. Perked me up. Today is a GOOD day! 😀

    Rate of Weight Loss

I have this same issue. My surgery was 4/18. I started my journey at 273 and was 242 on surgery date. As of today I am 227. At 4 weeks post op I thought I would have lost more than 15 lbs since surgery. However, my clothes were getting too big and I went shopping. I am down 2 sizes in my tops and 1 size in my pants. I am doing cardio 3-4 times a week also. I was a slave to the scale for the first 3 weeks and it was discouraging. It seems a lot of us have these issues. I am also very scared of overeating and stretching my pouch. You are doing great! This is a journey and journeys take time as my hubby says!
  19. I gained 14 lbs from all the fluids. It came back off within a few days of being home. Luckily, the surgeon warned me of this prior to surgery.

    Advice needed

I did not tell my employer the type of surgery, just that I needed to have surgery. Luckily they did not press me for information just asked if I was ok. I go back to work later this week and I know there will be speculation and/or questions. Bottom line is that it is no ones business but your own and you control who you want to tell. I am still not sure of how I am going to answer questions that mat come up. Just remember this is your journey and you do not have to explain to anyone you don’t want to.
  21. I am extremely frustrated of the lack of weight loss since surgery. I have been following the diet per my surgeon and walking 4 to 5 days a week for a 1/2 hour. I have been struggling with protein and water to get my daily goals and still on the puréed stage until 4/22. Eating has been a struggle. I know I should not weigh myself daily but it is hard not to. I find myself crying daily because I’m trying so hard. How can I get through his phase without feeling so discouraged? Has this happened to anyone else and how did you work through it? Poll: What is your goal?

I am 5’2. Goal weight is 150 but will see how it lands when I get there. HW: 273 VSG: 4/18/18 SW: 242 CW: 232
  23. I have burning on my left side when I eat or drink. It is above my far left incision which is my most bothersome one. I am not sure if it is still gas or the stomach or the incision. My surgery was 4/18. I am also having issues transitioning to puréed foods and trying to get my water in. Any one else?
