Ok, so, I was cleared to start pureed/thicker things by my nutritionist. I had mashed potatoes (maybe 3 small spoonfuls) and a friend of mine had fish. The mashed potatoes were really good. Then I looked at my friend's FRIED fish. Look y'all, I KNOW fried is an absolute no no. ESPECIALLY only 8 days p.o. But for some reason, I was like "I want it!" I wasn't "hungry" for it, but I wanted it. Then I thought "What was the worst that can happen?" I thought if I scrape off the skin, I may be fine. I added a dash of organic, low sugar ketchup and chewed on it. I swallowed it and was like "That tasted ok. Not as good as I remember, but ok." I took another bite, then another bite. Then...it hit me like a freight train. Insane nausea, food felt like it was lodged in my throat and the top of mt stomach started to ache. I ran to the bathroom and threw up every-single-bite I ate. Every bit. The rest of my stomach didn't hurt, but it felt like it was trying to push out every bit of BS I just ate. It really hit me that: 1.) I was insanely stupid 2.) I ate when I wasn't even hungry (and obviously I did that pre surgery) 3.) I fell right back into a toxic habit, luckily my stomach can not hold nearly as much as it used to so I stopped (forcibly) after a total of 3 bites of fish and 3 small bites of mashed potatoes (may be a Tablespoon total). 4.) I deserve to feel any pain that comes with me throwing up. I KNEW better. Has anyone else done this? I know I hope I NEVER EVER do this buffoonery again. There is a diet for a freaking reason. So, so true. I have always been self aware, but this incident really hit me hard. I had a battlr with food that could have been dangerous. I am buckling down. Sent from my LG-LS777 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Any April surgery buddies
Nikki31 replied to Relle2190's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was April 16th. For me, personally, recovery was rough. I couldn't keep next to ANY liquids down and became severely dehydrated. The last couple of days have been a lot better, but was still super shaky, cold, tired. I talked to my nutritionist, she said I really need to get in some carbs and protein, especially since it has been almost two weeks since I had actual FOOD. My body wasn't dealing well with being in clear liquids for as long as I have been. I tried a protein shake and after a couple of sips, my body went batshit. I got very hot and sweaty and felt beyond tired. She told me that patients after WLS have to trial and error different things. So for now, protein shakes and protein water were a no go for now. I let her know that I will try very soft baked eggs. Mind you, I have ALWAYS hated eggs, but my roommate had them available and I knew eggs were a good source of protein and not a full solid. I really didn't have much energy to go to the store and find something else. So I seasoned some and added a little bit of low fat cheddar cheese. It was very good. I ate about 6 very small bites and divided the rest for breakfast, lunch, and dinner tomorrow. I am tolerating it well so far (it's been a couple of hours) and do feel like I have a bit more energy. Tomorrow I will pick up some oatmeal and give that a shot. But like I said, I talked with my nutritionist first. I am not saying this is what y'all should do before you talk to your Dr or nutritionist. Sent from my LG-LS777 using BariatricPal mobile app
