What, did he go to school with Marcus Welby or something?? Sounds like he needs some current education.

Seems you have solved your problem....this site is certainly not for everyone. Have a wonderful day!

I honestly do not know what size I was at the beginning because I did not have any clothes that fit other than super stretchy leggings/jeggings that I wore all the time. I think the largest size was 22W. At almost 8 months out I have gotten rid of everything with a W in my closet and am currently wearing a regular XL or a L in some things. I just bought a pair of Seven7 skinny jeans in a size 16 that fit well. I bought the same ones in a 14 for the future but I can a$$shove my way into them but they are not appropriate for public wear. My motorcycle jeans are 14 and 16 and fit fine. I have done well as I have gone down selling things on eBay---especially new stuff that I missed the window on. I still have (many) jeans down to a size 12. Since I am no longer working I do not wear dresses and and they and my dress pants from before are mostly too big. I need to go through them and weed out sellable vs. donations. If I do decide to go back to work I will have to get some new stuff but still deciding. I think this thread is great since we have a lot in common and I do not think it was designed to exclude anyone but these days it seems there is something about EVERYTHING that offends SOMEONE. Why not just avoid participating in a thread instead of calling people names?

30 year rollercoaster and 6 years of research...
MIZ60 replied to raho5113's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best of luck to you. I started this journey a year ago with my first surgeon appointment on 12/26. It is by far the best decision I ever made. -

I think that whenever YOU decide you have reached your goal is entirely your business. No one looking over your shoulder when you are on the scale and it is just a number. And, you are right, if you are below your original goal by 5-10 pounds it will not be noticeable to others and really none of their business anyway. I think you will easily lose below your original goal and you will need to decide where you look and feel the best. I hope you are taking periodic pictures to help you decide where you look and feel best and no one (except maybe your husband) should weigh in and give an opinion. I do think as we women get older being too thin does age us and look unattractive but it varies from person to person. The most important thing, in my opinion, is that you feel good about your appearance and are healthy. -
Blue Diamond Artisan Nut Thins are really tasty and only about 10 calories / 1.5 carbs per cracker. They are also wheat/gluten free if that matters to you. I just finished 6 of them with some edamame hummus and it was a really good snack/lunch during the end of the Cowboys game. The Kays and Quest chips are good but pretty pricey IMHO.

International Travel - 5 months post op

Sounds like a great trip!! Plenty of walking and easy enough to get plenty of water in every day. My biggest concern (for myself) would be Jameson available at every turn but hopefully you don't like it. Have fun!!! -
Well, the truth is you did "do something" by having surgery but it is none of their business. I would think talking between themselves is normal (especially in an office with a bunch of women) and it is not like they said anything bad about you and who cares anyway. If you wanted them to know about your surgery you would have told them. I would completely ignore it, not let it bother me and continue your journey. As I have lost weight, I have discussed the surgery with more people since it is obvious. One person whom I only see occasionally was so relieved when I told her because she was worried I had cancer or something like that. But I only tell people I feel a certain level of comfort with....even some of my cousins on facebook know about it and say I look good in pictures but no references to surgery which is how I want it.

I was thinking about this too just a little while ago and did not realize the parathyroid came back as cancer either. Please, @clsumrall let us know here or elsewhere what is up with that and what, if any, further treatment you will be getting. -

I actually 'THOUGHT' I was posting this on the sophomore thread so it does not make any sense on the IF thread. I would move it if I had any idea how to. My apologies🙄 -

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

So, today I had a minor medical procedure involving the removal of a small lipoma and a calcified hematoma from my left upper arm. It had been there since my horrible car wreck in April 2014 and while I could always feel it it was not visually noticeable until I lost about 60 pounds. Same side that I also have a titanium clavicle thanks to the uninsured driver (of a 2013 Mercedes) that totaled my beautiful 2013 Infiniti G37. But that is another story.... So the procedure went great, very easy with local anesthetic only and just a tiny incision. Jim brought me home and I ate 1/2 of a leftover Whataburger PattyMelt (no bun) and some green beans, Started watching some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (don't judge me😜🤪) and decided to have a sugar free popsicle and had both halves which is technically too soon after eating but it went okay. So I had 2 more halves, then a handful of dark chocolate chips THEN 2 sugar free fudgsicles (in a short period of time). This was followed by major pain and ended with throwing up twice. This is only the second time I have thrown up since surgery in May. WTF IS WRONG WITH ME?? I know better than this and I have absolutely no idea what happened. I was not stressed from the nothingburger procedure and was perfectly fine but could not shut off the intake valve. It would have been worse if I had any worse foods here. I am very disappointed in myself and am really trying to understand what is going on. -

Loved Mr. Charleston in the 6 years we lived in Vegas....such an amazing respite from the summer heat and able to experience snow in the winter. Congrats on your husband's retirement, mine is already there and I am thinking I might be too since we pay off EVERYTHING (including our home) in April, We are shopping for 5th wheel toy haulers so we can go places with the dog and the motorcycle and spend a couple of years seeing the country. Sad to me that I am likely done working since I love my job but there is definitely more to life and with my husband 6 years older we need to take advantage of being healthy and active while we can.

My actual plan is just to stay where I am at for the remainder of the holiday season....we only have a few more events and then life will get back to normal. Right after NY, I plan to do at least 2 weeks Atkins induction and then go from there. I do not eat a lot of carbs now but I think for me it is better to keep them pretty low, mostly just good veggies. Lots of water, no alcohol. I have many great recipes that I know we like and it was really pretty easy for me previously. I also need to eliminate snack foods, even healthy ones like nuts because I do not have portion control with stuff like that. And, I just have to learn how to go to some of our musician friends' gigs AND JUST DRINK WATER since they always happen in bars. But, not going is not an option so I need to figure it out. I have no excuse not to exercise since I have everything I need here or within a 1/2 block....Jim just got me to go for a walk and it was nice. I have Tae Bo, Winsor PIlates and the Firm programs all in my closet. It is stupid really because once I do it I am always glad.

Diet fatigue for me at this moment is an understatement. I have been in the same 7 pound range for almost 2 months and I am just over it. I know a big part of it is socialization which for us always involves drinking and eating. I am not eating anything terrible, just likely not the best choices. And not drinking water like I know I should be. Only exercising/walking a few times per week and just not feeling it anymore. I so hope it gets better because I feel like a failure, I am happy that I have lost weight and that I have noted dramatic improvements in my health but still have a long way to go and do not think I am going to make it. I apologize for being such a Debbie Downer but that is how I feel at the moment.

I feel the same way even though I am considering face/neck lift but the rest of it is just going to have to stay the way it is because there are lots of better things I can use that money for.

At 4 months out, you should be able to tolerate food rather than relying on shakes to meet your nutritional goals. I would recommend discussing with your team why you can not tolerate at least soft foods. The sugary ones you listed are not appropriate and will likely jeopardize your weight loss and maybe cause dumping. If you must do shakes, use some FairLife milk and one of the low sugar powders and make your own.

https://www.webmd.com/first-aid/ss/slideshow-wound-care-dos-and-donts This information has been out for quite a few years.....using hydrogen peroxide actually damages the tissue and delays the healing so I would advise against it. Sorry but I figured you would want to know...nurse Ratched always on duty🤣🤣 -

OMG, that (and the focaccia bread) was always my favorite meal at MG long before I figured out my sensitivity to gluten. Looks like you ate a reasonable amount and I am glad some of your esophagus issues are better. Sounds like the surgery was just what you needed. And I just noticed you are only 11# from goal.....WOO HOO!! -
CPAP users, lend me your ear!
MIZ60 replied to kfaery215's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband has sleep apnea and he has never been overweight....I think he has had it for a long time because he does snore a lot and has a hard time waking up in the morning. Even with multiple adjustments (the sleep doctor can actually adjust it remotely and determine how many episodes he is having) it never fully fixed it. They recommended a dental appliance (looks like Invisilign braces with a hook between the top and bottom) and it is the best thing he has ever used. He had a follow up sleep study a couple of months ago and they said he only had a few episodes over the whole night. It is so much easier and better than the CPAP and we both really love it. -
