  1. I had regular vsg but wish I would’ve looked more into doing SILS, I know my scars will fade, but I get sad everytime I look at them. On the bright side, I’m four weeks out and 20 lbs down. Just hoping I can keep the weight off.

I’m somewhat looking forward to being able to eat a little bit more in one sitting, right now I just want to throw up if I eat more than two spoonfuls. This is what I wanted though and I am already seeing results.

I’ve been struggling with this as well. I’m on day 8 post op and am now in puréed foods stage. I ordered some chicken spaetzel soup from brueggers today and blended it. After about four spoonfuls, I am full. How am I going to ever dine out with friends without them knowing? Or attend family dinners. I love that I don’t eat much but I hate worrying about what I’ll tell others. I also am not telling many people about the surgery.
  5. Yesterday morning I underwent surgery for VSG. I arrived Thursday afternoon in El Paso and will go home tomorrow. I feel so much better today than I did yesterday. I vomited quite a few times after the surgery, I think partly from the pain meds and partly from the gas they fill you up with. The last time I threw up was around 2AM. I woke up feeling tremendously better than I did yesterday. My stomach is still a bit sore, and I am experiencing some heartburn, but the gas pains are much less. I was burping a lot yesterday and I even passed gas out the rear today- which felt amazing lol. I’m in the lower BMI range, but my weight has just been creeping up these last few years, so I’m hoping this will help me turn my life around. My biggest fear is heartburn and stomach ulcers. I’m hoping to dramatically change my diet though and hopefully that will help. Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant. Dr Rod and his team were great, my incisions don’t look very big and the hospital is nicer than the one I gave birth to my son at 10 years ago, so it’s on par with (id not better than) many American hospitals.
  6. That’s great! I felt pretty crappy yesterday and last night but woke up feeling like a whole new person. Liquids are staying down so far and walking feels wonderful, I hope my recovery goes as well as yours!
  7. I’m heading to Juarez to get sleeved by Dr Rod next week. I’m a little worried, because I do consume more alcohol than I should, but I think I’ll be ok. I had the orbera balloon last year and lost about 20 lbs, but gained it back as soon as they took it out. I’m excited and nervous for this surgery! I’m just looking forward to getting my confidence back. Anyone else going to be at hospital Angeles next week?
