Little Green getting little(r)
TaylorMade4One replied to Little Green's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Girlll!!!! You did it!! Soo happy for you. Just relax and know you will be more than fine after surgery. And does everyone have to take the citrate the night before surgery? Getting a massage and float session was a great idea! I'll have to do that. Hopefully I remember to schedule one. I'm seeing another surgeon next week. [emoji106] -

Post surgery struggles
TaylorMade4One replied to vsg_Charly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Take it one day at a time. Each day make better choices. But you lost 32 lbs POST surgery. That is awesome in my book!!! I should be submitted for pre authorization and haven't lost any weight. I feel like my doctor's program doesn't offer much support and I'm on my own. Not transferring the blame on my doctor of my failures but 37 years of poor eating isn't easy to kick. -
Behavior mod and nutrition class today. Go or no go
TaylorMade4One replied to GettinSkinnywithit's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was listening to Dr. V's youtube a few days ago and he said something that stuck with me. Food is be used as energy to fuel your dreams. All the things you may have wanted to do can be done if you think of food in that way. Having a "cheat meal" all the time is only cheating yourself out of meeting your dreams or goals...🤔 -
Hello, wondering when you go to Costco what are some good things to buy for pre and post op? I go in there and feel overwhelmed...🙂

Gallbladder, Haital Hernia and bypass??
TaylorMade4One posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hello!! Had my EGD on Tuesday my doctor said my hernia was huge and also prescribed me acid reflx medication. She didn't tell me much more and said she's talk more about it at my next appointment. Now I'm thinking which should be adressed first, my haital hernia, gallbladder(so I don't get kidney stones) or my reflux issues? Do I have an ulcer what else did she see and how serious is it?? Ugghh -
Boss Wants Me to Delay Surgery
TaylorMade4One replied to clabelle2007's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WHAT!!!? 1. It's very insensitive of your manager to say since it elective surgery so it can wait and then give YOU a time when he/she feels it should be done. 2. I would review your FMLA policy, short term disability and PTO time to determine how much time you will have available. 3. After reviewing those policies keep in mind you may heal sooner or later than what your doctor recommends. 4. Tell your manager how that made you feel AND contact someone in employee relations. Give them the details and allow them to chime in and provide your manager some effective coaching. 5. Keep your surgery date as planned. This is NOT a vaction where he/she can give you suggested times you can be out based on business needs. Is he/she crazy??!! -

Kinda off topic but who was your surgeon in Dallas, if you don't mind me asking. There's a lot of surgeon's here but wondering what your experience was.

Costco: suggestions on what to buy.
TaylorMade4One replied to TaylorMade4One's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks!! -
I would say review your insurance to determine how long you have to wait in order to be submitted for pre certification. Review all costs and test you may be required to get such as EGD, stress test, sleep test. I have a high deductible plan and WISHED someone broke down the costs to me. I'm a single mother on a budget and my surgeon's office calls me like "ok, your scheduled next week for your EDG wich may cost $2600 (estimate). Uggghh that sent me over the edge.

Bariatric haul! What have you bought for your journey or plan to buy?
TaylorMade4One replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, so just went to Costco. One bought a few items. Water, trash bags, laundry soap and the premier protein drinks. They had vanilla, chocolate and carmel. My issues is I want variety and not really a fan of having the same flavor all the time. So, I got the vanilla hoping I can add ice and blend it with maybe strawberries...right?? My other question when you go to Costco what do you buy? -
If they take out the hormone that makes you crave food....
TaylorMade4One replied to amyandgreg1234's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yea, I don't have a particular issue either but I'd be interested to hear what a behavior therapist would say and how they could help change some eating behaviors... -
