    Full Feeling Sign

Before surgery I never took a deep breath durning the time I was eating. I’ve found that now when I’m done my body forces me to take a deep breath . I still measure and weigh everything. But it took me awhile to figure out exactly just what my bodies new “ you are full stop eating” sign was.
  2. First don’t stress. Everyone loses at there own pace. are you exercising a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio or more daily? Wow at 3 months 1000 calories A day would have killed me. Heck I have not reached that yet and I am 10 months RNY post op. My daily average is 750 to 800 calories, protein 75 -80g, water 95 -110 oz, I exercise 2 + hours daily swimming laps, step aerobics. Yoga I don’t count because I do it just before bed a great relaxation tool I learned.

    Weight loss stats!

I had my RNY on 2/12/2019. I had already lost 160 lbs in 11 months pre op. I am now 195 lbs a little over 10 months post op. I started at HW: 474. (1/2018). SW: 314. (2/12/19). CW: 195. 12/22/19. GW: 160-170 i love this new life and work very hard everyday to keep going. I have adapted a great exercise plan I love and I eat the same thing almost every day. I don’t have many foods that agree with me anymore. I don’t have any regrets at all. In fact I would not be this successful if I had done surgery before I did.

    Help!

Definitely call your nutritionist. Don’t be embarrassed they deal with this issue all the time. It would probably be a good idea to not drink your calories. People don’t think about the extra calories that go in there drinks with all the mixers that are added. You may also not be realizing how much snacking you are doing while “social drinking”. You are talking and listening and snacking without even thinking . my councilor who I still see today had me write up a small poster to place on my fridge it says: Thinking before you open this door: Are you angry? Are you thirsty. Are you tired? Are you upset? if you answer yes to any of these questions don’t eat anything at that time. Walk away with a bottle of water and think why you said yes.. Work through the problem. it actual works. I’ve walked away from food so often after reading this poster.
  5. When I first had my RNY I only weighed when I went to my doctors office, which is what my team ask of all there post op patients until they have seen the doctor for there first follow up. Then after they encourage there post ops to only weight 1x a week on the same day and around the same time. I have adapted the 1x a week weigh in for myself. I don’t have any stress over seeing that number on my scale anymore. If I don’t lose and maintain I can deal with that. I have not had any gains in my 10 months post op.
  6. Are you on the blood thinner shot? I was on blood thinners and they took me off of them 6 days before surgery and I had to give myself blood thinner shots 5 days in a row. The no shaving rule was one of the things they told me. They gave me the shots the morning of surgery and daily until I was discharged.

    I didn't realize when I lost weight that _____

I didn’t realize when I lost weight that————— I would be cold all the time. Right now it’s in the 70s and I’ve got a long sleeve t shirt and a sweatshirt on. How many people who have not had surgery and have never taken any nutrition classes know everything about what I am and am not allowed to eat. How much my bones would stick out. How bad my butt and tailbone hurt after only setting for 10 minutes.
  8. I think they call it distilled water. My nutritionist had me try regular water at different temperatures and I found that I can’t drink ice water or cold water much it bothers me. So I drink it room temp or warm it up a little.

    NSAIDs

I asked my surgeons office the same question. I was told no pampering, and no midol due to high risk of ulcers and upset stomachs caused by the aspirin and NSIDS. I now use a combination of essential oils and Tylenol. My periods and PMS have been about the same after surgery. But I was in the beginning of menopause when I had surgery.

    Names for my new sleeve

I have 2 names because I have 2 completely different personalities for my stomach. When she is nice I call her Betty when she is upset and just grumpy I call her Beulah the Bitch. And let me tell you Beulah scares me. my husband will ask me who is with us today . It’s a inside joke when we’re out and about.
