  1. Hello Kelly, I am in the midwest as well ( Indiana) originally from Texas, been here almost 2 years. Yes my big incision is my port area, mine still is sometimes feels uncomfortable, and I was banded 101007. The bruising will go away, everyone is a little different. They have never used ultrasound to fill me, it is usually a quickie in the office! They use a very tiny needle to numb that area, then give me a little fill. Sometimes it takes several fills and sometimes a fill does not seem to work to long, once again everyone is different and it also depends how well you take care of your tool AKA band! I have lost 70 pounds since 101007, but have not lost in a month, BUT. I can only blame myself, I have not been making the right decisions. Looking forward to hearing your journey. What is your goal? I would love to lose 65 pounds more!!!
  2. That is absolutely normal, I think I had sips of water and crystal light only for 5 days after surgery. Try gas-X, also may want a stool softner, heating pad, but do get up and move!! I was honestly not myself for about 2 weeks, but still had tenderness and even some pain for almost 6 weeks!! Maybe that was me, everyone is different. Hang in there and you know your body, so asked your doc. Good Luck!
  3. Hello she is right some insurance do not take 6 months, you could have answer from insurance within 30 days of submitting, I got my answer quick, so quick I was called that day and said start your liquid diet surgery in 2 weeks. I know I was a lucky one. Good Luck, start practicing on that liquid diet, Hang in there!!!
  4. Hello Babydoll, Welcome! How much weight have you lost so far? What is your goal? I was banded 6 months ago and I am down 70! Goal about 65 more, but would love and I mean love 100. Once again Hello and Welcome!
  5. You guys are awesome, let me start with RubyJade, OMG 140 pounds lost, U GO GIRL, I want your daily schedule with everything, food, exercise!!! clap clap yell, bow to you!!! Secondly, Iherstine, I am sooooo jealous of you right now, I had my surgery 10-10-07, I am only down 70, my starting weight was 316, what is your goal how tall are you? Please give me your schedule as well! Clap, clap!!!! katie 328 did you ask your doctor and dietician? I was told 800-1000 a day try to get 60-65g proteins, no sugar! I have done pretty well, but there are days even weeks that I do not see a scale change, but I do in clothes. However on Saturdays, I definately go over, which is probably why Iherstine is kicking my butt on the weight loss, plus I probably do not move my *** enough! LOL:drool:
  6. Hang in there, do not weigh everyday, I know that is hard, try once a week or even better every 2 weeks. Watch your calories and remember to walk even if only a few minutes here and there to get you started. Can't wait to hear you say the numbers on the scale are moving down!!
  7. Hang in there. It is tough but you all can get through, I lost 21 pounds on my 10 day pre-surgery liquids. I did EAS shakes and a few slimfast high protein, sugar free popsicles, sugar free pudding, lots and lots of Crystal light. It has been 6 months and I have lost 70 pounds! I have 65 to goal, but maybe go further, we will see. You all can do it, remember to get out in walk even if for 10 minutes here and there. We all have set backs don not get defeated!:tongue_smilie:
  8. Hey guys, I saw a site from a blog just yesterday, where to go find the 5 day get started again or something similiar, liquid diet, it was in reference to a bander falling off the diet wagon. I meant to write it down, now I can not find that thread! I have lost 70 pounds since 10-10-07 and I an am stuck and have not lost a pound in 2 weeks, however I will not complain, since I know I am eating the wrong foods and feel I need to jump start and utilize my tool.
