I didn’t tell people I work with. The weight doesn’t fly off 30 lbs at a time, so when they see you everyday it’s not as noticeable. My body, my business -

I also had the bypass and was told that no two patients are the same. I can also eat more then 1/2 c of food but I usually don’t. Sometimes I accidentally overdo it and I’m in a great deal of pain. -

To each their own then. I explained to my family that when I had this surgery, things would look different for the whole family. We are a team, and we are all Making healthy changes. I don’t see it all “punishment” I’m teaching them to be healthier individuals. -

I had told my teaching team about seeing a nutritionist and starting a new work out regime back in the spring (true) and that I had my gallbladder out in July (also true). Basically I’m just going to tell people that after I had my gallbladder removed there were so many foods I could no longer tolerate and thus, an added bonus was additional weight loss. -

Ask to see another doc in the same practice if possible so it doesn’t take forever to get an appt with a brand new doctor in a brand new practice. The wait can sometimes be months -
I had the bypass because there is long term research on it. I didn’t feel like there was enough long term research on the sleeve
