    It's SAD

I agree with the taking a walk on your lunch break, even 15 mins. Also my son and I are taking up snowshoeing this year. We need a winter activity (I shattered my ankle a few years back so I don’t see any skiing in my future)

    3 lb weight gain today

Don’t weight yourself in the afternoon, rookie mistake

    Hospital Experiences

Staying at the hospital sucks. They wake you up every couple hours to take your pulse, BP, draw blood, etc. I had to share a room with the most inconsiderate idiot on the planet. She had every person in her damn family come visit her or she was on the phone, or had the TV cranked up. Hospitals are supposed to be a place where people can rest and get better, no one can get better, if they can't get any sleep. I couldn't WAIT to get home. That being said, the staff was wonderful, everyone from the surgeon to the woman who brought my protein shake in the mornings. But I was happy to say goodbye to all of them, lol

    Liquid intake worries!

Try to slowly increase. Don’t do it all at once. Strive for 40oz this week and then increase. Your bladder will adjust. There’s no magic number, you have to find what works for you
  5. Higher level math...what a waste

    Social outings suck now

Do something that doesn’t center around food/drinks

    I don't think I'm ready ):

Totally normal to get nervous as surgery gets closer. But honestly the things you think you can’t live without don’t feel that important anymore. I know it seems weird to say you won’t miss alcohol, but I totally you won’t. You’ll be so busy with a million other things, you won’t even think about it.

    Mommies getting sleeved

I don't know, it doesn't sound so peaceful to me, lol. I completely understand wanting to snuggle your little one, I too let my kiddos sleep with me from time to time when my husband is away for work. But you'll be in a lot of pain post-op and finding a comfortable position to sleep is crucial as you need rest in order to heal. I saw Peg Dawson (guru for ADHD moms) speak and she said one of the first obstacles a child overcomes is independently is falling asleep in their bed (not sitting with them or laying with them) and how important it is that we as parents allow that rite of passage to occur. That it's important to their growth as a person and their executive functioning skills. I thought that was so powerful. Best of luck to you.

    Mommies getting sleeved

Would it be possible to use this time to start transitioning your son/daughter to their own bed? You will both sleep so much better.
  10. Me too! Three and half months out
  11. I had a really easy recovery too, but don't rush it. Chili on day five seems fast, but I don't know your plan. Follow your nutrition plan, get your vitamins and and fluids and you'll be all good. Some people are lucky : )

    Mommies getting sleeved

My boys are 10 and 4, they need a mommy that’s healthy, happy, active, and feels good about herself. It was an adjustment at first, with me being so tired, but they soon fell right in line being my helpers, they help prepare meals, shop, plan, etc. They love us happy ❤️

Tips for getting your fluid in?

I have a smart bottle. Seemed like a silly purchase at first, but keeps me on track

    Water

🙄 Thanks for the math lesson. You almost gave advice without sounding pretentious....almost

    Water

Thank you! I’m going to check out those articles on my lunch hour. I was just interested because 128 just seem like such a random number I just had to ask : )

    Post surgery downfall....

We all do. You just decide to recommit to yourself and your health and you move forward

    Water

Just out of curiosity...did your nutritionist recommend 128 oz of water/day or was that a number you came up with? That just seems like SO much water to me, way more then I could ever drink.

    Non-food rewards

Mostly new clothes and shoes. I also like getting my nails done
  19. I only told my mom and my husband. No one else needs to know. My surgery, my business
  20. I think people should do what works for them. If you can eat carbs in healthy portions, then go for it. Carbs make me lethargic, are a migraine trigger, and tend to send me down a downward spiral of bad carbs, sugars, etc. I have to avoid them altogether ☹️
  21. Call the insurance company if you feel weird asking the surgeons office. They can answer any questions for you.

At what point do you stop counting the months?

Like when people tell you their toddler is 33 months old....I'm sorry, what????

    Should I buy a scale?

I weigh myself every morning, but I honestly don't obsess about it. As long as you don't live and die by that number, go ahead. Each person is different though
