I have just a couple times, frankly it’s great way to keep yourself in check, lol. It’s certainly not a reason to not get the bypass

Is your weight loss surgeon morbidly obese?
NYJenn replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Actually my GP is quite overweight and I felt like because of it, he never took my concerns about my own weight very seriously. He would just say things like “well, if I had the magic wand for that...” (and pat his tummy) Finally I made an appt with the NP and talked/cried to her about my weight concerns. She was actually the one who suggested bariatric surgery. I love her for it : ) -

Surgeon didn’t recommend a bypass over a sleeve?

You have to make this decision for you, and you alone. Maybe he’ll come around, maybe he won’t. Just remember, that’s his hangup though, not yours

No Pain Medications
NYJenn replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wouldn’t listen to any gossip coming from a nurse that would openly discuss another patients medication with you. Sounds like she just likes stirring up trouble and is beyond unprofessional -
How do you deal with those around you eating all the things you can't?
NYJenn replied to danieocean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When things that other people eat bother me, I say so. Especially if it’s my family. I’m entitled to have an enjoyable dinner experience, just as much as they are. If watching them eat pizza is going to upset me, I speak up. -

Planning, Planning, Planning: How Much Time / Help Will I Need?
NYJenn replied to Boldilocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Take this time to teach them to take care of themselves. They are a grown man and two very capable young ladies. You will be tired and in pain and recovering will be your job, not cleaning up after them. -
Question for fellow July folks. I’m doing great, down 75 lbs. but suddenly drinking water has become difficult, almost painful/lots of pressure. Anyone have this? I almost always drink room temp water. Is that bad?

Anyone regretting this?
NYJenn replied to Anglkrys2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one forced you to do anything. It was your choice. Of course one week out you’re going to be in a lot of pain, a few weeks from now that will be a memory though and you’ll be so happy with your decision. -
Her room was directly across from the nurses station, so I agree, I'm thinking she just didn't care.

Needles to say, we didn’t see her again after that 😬

Hospital drama; 1am couldn’t sleep so I decided to walk the halls of the hospital. I heard a patient screaming “you can’t do this to me. I’m recovering from a gunshot wound!” She’s throwing things around the room. I’m really feeling bad for her thinking she’s probably in a ton of pain, she can sleep, they keep waking her up, taking her BP, etc, plus you get cabin fever because they don’t really let you go anywhere etc. By the time I walked the whole exterior of the hospital wing and came back around the corner, all the stuff in her room was in the hallway, and when I walked passed the room it smelled like weed SO BAD! 😂 Ok, now I understand why she was upset.
