  1. Upper Gi done today; no stricture. Which is good. However it also means they have no clue what the hell is actually wrong with me.

    Post op clothing

Shop goodwill or another second hand store. I find loads of great things there for dirt cheap. I’m not going to spend a lot on “transitional” clothes.
  3. Wear them on a chain around your neck for the interim

    Struggling to hydrate

Some days using a tiny medicine cup helps. Just keep filling that. All those tiny sips add up
  5. Current: 199 lbs 😊 Weight loss; 89 lbs and counting Exercise Goal: didn’t attend class at all this week, dealing with a possible stricture and feeling like death
  6. Thanks ladies, I have been able to keep some Gatorade down today. Literally drinking out of a tiny medicine cup. Trying to hold off on the Er, I know it’ll be hours and hours and I don’t want to, but I will if I can’t keep water down. 🤞🏻
  7. Back at the doctor today. I can barely keep water down now. They don’t seem terribly concerned either. Total waste of time. I’m beyond aggravated. They are going to TRY to get me in for the upper GI on Monday; I just have to wait around for a call Monday morning. Hello? I have to work, take care on my kids and possibly have some kind of life!!! I can’t just lay around all weekend and do nothing, attempting to drink water and continually throwing up. Ugh
  8. That's a relief. One more question...I am having a REALLY hard time keeping any fluids down. Like if I get 20 oz of water in per day, that's good. I'm getting really dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out about an hour ago. Should I go to the ER? What do I do? How am I going to get fluids in? My upper Gi isn't until December 26
  9. Do they put you under for the endoscopy? I'm a little nervous
  10. I also had my bypass in July, I've lost 89 lbs. Sounds like you are on the right track
  11. I lose between on average 2-3 per week and I'm thrilled with my progress (ends up being 7-17 per month). How much have you lost total?
  12. This is why I didn’t tell anyone other then my husband and my mom; I just don’t need anyone else’s opinion

I need to get back on track

Water, logging for your food, and seeing your GP about your anxiety. Your anxiety might be inhibiting your weight loss

Started the process at 288lbs, in April 2018 when I went to my first nutrition appt. Surgery July 2018 Total loss 88 lbs
  15. Surgery on July 10th, 80 lbs gone forever! Feeling amazing

    Pre op diet

No, you’ll be fine. Many surgeons don’t require any pre-op diet

    Medical Alert ID

I’m not really that concerned with the nsaids, but I was never told I couldn’t have a tube in my stomach. To each their own, but I don’t think I’ll be getting a Med bracelet.

    Medical Alert ID

What’s the reasoning for having it?
  19. My regular GP has a nurse (weight loss coach) working in the office. She is free to see. Basically I can go in and chat with her once a week, have her check my food journal and have her weigh me. See if your doctors office has something similar
  20. Week three check in Down 10 pounds (88 lbs total)  Still losing 2-3 pounds/week Attended my class once this week. I’m thinking of trying something new, as this class is no longer motivating or challenging
  21. Just my icky hiccup/burp noises. I think the fellow members of my teaching team are used to it, but I still think they’re gross

Drinking While Eating and Pouch Question

Remember, your team works for you! Ask as many questions as you want.
  23. Join a class at the Y, 20 people doing the same exercise and no one will be paying attention to you.
