I usually do more low impact cardio. I use YouTube videos right now. I started with Leslie Sansone and I've done some of the HIIT for beginners programs, and I really like a Beachbody program called Slim in 6 (Burn it Up) that's on YouTube. I can't do the whole thing (yet) but I skip ahead and do some of each of the segments.

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
photogirl70 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm using YouTube. I started with some Leslie Sansone. Then, I moved to HIIT for beginners and also worked to get Slim in 6 done. (That's a beachbody program that can be found on youtube.) -

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
photogirl70 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I've only exercised a handful of times and then it was only 10-20 minutes because I was exhausted. Today I'm going to start up with some HIIT and see how that goes. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
photogirl70 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Uggg. I'm in an stall and have actually gained 2 lbs from my lowest I'm 7 weeks out today and I'm drinking my water, getting my protein, and eating in my calorie range 500-800. On 9/12, I was 217.2 and today I'm 219.6. I just want to cry (and eat food I know I'm not supposed to have right now!) -
Any one go home the same day ?
photogirl70 replied to rosie6's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was done outpatient at a surgery center. I was home by 3:00 the same day. I'm glad I didn't have to stay overnight. -
How much do you chew? I looked though my notebook and my guidelines say 20-30 after the first 2 weeks. In the "nutrition for life" section, there is no mention. Do you count your chews? Sometimes, I find that I forget to chew as much as I probably should. I'm just curious about what other people are experiencing.

Incision Pain will is ever end!?!?
photogirl70 replied to E-girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think mine lasted longer than usual. I had an infection at my big incision. It was at least 12 days for me until I didn't feel pain there -

I had GERD before my sleeve and I have not had it since. Everyone is different. -
Not eating and drinking at the same time
photogirl70 replied to Swanton_Bomb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My plan has me not drink 10 min before, none during, and 20 after. The only time this has been an issue for me has been when I've eaten something spicy. I do take a drink of water shortly after I eat lunch in order to take my vitamins. -
Help!! Don’t know what to eat!
photogirl70 replied to likehasjustbegun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you actually gotten sick or had food get stuck when you've eaten or is it that you are just scared of that happening? -
My best guess is that you will be fine. You won't be able to eat as much but you will be able to enjoy the yummy Disney goodness. I hope to go on a Disney cruise again one day.

Help!! Don’t know what to eat!
photogirl70 replied to likehasjustbegun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 1/2 week and eat mostly protein (chicken, ground turkey, shrimp - lots of shrimp, steak, etc) and occasionally sauteed zucchini or a tiny spinach salad w/ blue cheese and a few slices of strawberry and a tiny bit of goddess dressing. The trick is to eat slowly and chew the heck out of everything. I can feel when I'm getting full so I know when to stop. I drink a premier nutrition shake for breakfast every morning. -
Everyone is different but I enjoy small dinners out a restaurants (well, shared dinners) at 5/6 weeks. I haven't had a cocktail yet.

What's your go to exercise DVD/Program
photogirl70 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm needing to get my butt in gear and start working out on a regular basis. I would love to hear what program you are using especially if you are doing a DVD at home. I just can't bring myself to go to a gym right now. I hate treadmills and I don't like walking outside. Once I meet with my surgeon on Monday, I'm hoping she will clear me (I had an infection at my big incision) to start with more core work. I've been doing some Leslie Sansone but I'm getting bored even though I can't get through a whole program yet. -

Post op pain - be honest
photogirl70 replied to tahoegirl96118's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I usually have a high tolerance for pain and pain meds make me sick too. The gas pain wasn't too bad, but other pain, for my big incision (which got infected) and I guess internal incision were pretty rough. I took the anti-nausea pill they gave me and waited about 20 min and then took pain meds. I set an alarm so I wouldn't miss a dose because I could definitely tell when the pain meds would wear off. -
I had reflux before surgery. I'm 6 weeks post op and am eating regular food, just not much of it. I have not had any issues with reflux post VSG. I was not given any meds for reflux either.

@Megan Sadler Dollar General, Walgreens, Walmart, etc have enemas and they are $2-3. Walgreens has a single enema for $1.89. -

You will be fine once you go to the bathroom. I could feel mine and basically following the hard knots along the path of my colon/intestines. I was very concerned but it took a couple of days to clear out and then I was fine. -

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion

I'm afraid you might need something more than miralax to get things going. I found MoM to be pretty good for a next day fix when I found I had gotten backed up a 2nd time. But, like I said, I had to go with the enema the 1st time because like you, it wasn't just constipation. I'm eating and won't go into detail but you can get yourself unimpacted with an enema and little work. I don't ever want to go through that again which is why I used MoM when I didn't go for a couple of days. I no longer use the miralax since I've been pretty regular for the last few weeks. -

photogirl70 replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That happened to me. It was really BAD. I had to use an enema. I would recommend trying Milk of Magnesia or if you want immediate relief use an enema. After that, I used Miralax daily for a couple of weeks. Good luck! -
8 Weeks Post-Op Problems
photogirl70 replied to FrogginBullfish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What are you eating and how often? I'm supposed to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks. I drink a shake (breakfast) and have lunch and dinner. Some days I might have a snack but usually not.
