Luckily it is much better now I'm actually doing pretty good now! I'm getting in almost all my water andprotein shakes.

I had my surgery Jan 7th and I have to say afterwards was awful! My suregon said I had more pain than probably 90% of his patients. They kept giving me morphine which does not work on pain for me (didn't work when my gallbladder was removed either). So finally one nurse listened to me and got my meds switched to dilaudid which helped tremendously. The 8th went pretty good I walked a lot and got in quite a bit of water/broth/ jello. Yesterday I got to go home the car ride home didn't make me feel so great. But I'm so glad to be home. My pain isn't very bad now and I can move around doing the little things I need to. I'm getting my protein shakes in and my water.

January surgeries?!
Brittbrat replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting super excited for surgery on the 7th! I've got all my stuff packed and ready to go. -
So it just hit me that tomorrow is the last day I get to have any food before surgery since Sunday is nothing but liquids and Monday and surgery day!!!
-
I'm getting so excited. I've got 3 days left til surgery and I honestly can't wait. I'm slightly nervous but more excited than anything.
-
I don't think I could have dealt with 2 weeks of just liquids. Luckiky I get to do 2 protein shakes and 2 meals (3-5oz meat and 1/2-1c non starchy vegetables). Also 64oz fluids.

Sooo my rny is January 7th. I start my "2 week diet" tomorrow per my doctors nurse. I really thought I wad going to have to do all liquids leadeing up to surgery but NOPE! I'm so ready to be done with all of this and be on the other side of it. The closer it gets to my date at this point the more nervous I get.

New to all of this! Help, and pointers!

No advice here really unless you want suggestions on things I cook for myself that ate simple. But I just wanted to say I had my surgical consult today so we're super close! -
Just starting the process??
Brittbrat replied to ChynaDollMUA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aw! I miss it there so much. I lived in Charlotte but worked as an emt in Cabarrus county. I miss being 2hours from the mountain and random weekend trips camping/hiking. I'd move back in a heartbeat if cost of living was a bit less. You're getting sooo close! I still feel like I have aj eternity to go -

Are you in Nc?! I moved from Nc->Mo a little over a year ago. My bcbs is through TX for whatever reason that's what my job went with. Well either way congratulations now!! I know it has to feel good with the end being near. -

Brittbrat replied to ChynaDollMUA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know I have to do a psych eval and approval from my pcp. But nothing else was required for BCBS. Now the program I'm going through is definitely making me do more than my insurance requires. But luckily I only have to do 3 months with a nutritionist. -

Premier protein for sure! Their pre-made drinks are perfect to throw in the fridge and drink. They're not a terrible taste either. I wouldn't try their powder though. -

Goodness that seems like so much to go through! I have BCBS as well but don't have to do a majority of what you did. I don't think I could have handled it. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
Brittbrat replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm really hoping for early September but who knows. I did my seminar online way earlier this month. Then scheduled my consultation with the surgeon that's not until May 23. My insurance does not require me to do any program (3months or 6months) however the place I am going to requires 3 months with a nutritionist (once a month). -

Brittbrat replied to ChynaDollMUA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the option to do my seminar online (thank goodness!) so I've done that and my consultation with my surgeon is May 23rd. Then I guess we'll go from there. My insurance does not require me to do any program before hand but the place I'm going to requires me to do 3 months with a nutritionist (1 meeting a month). I'm soo impatient at this point. -
