question about the pain-banded 5/13/08
jlwalker79 replied to bjs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sooo glad I'm not alone in this. I was banded 5/12 and I'm still hurting pretty good. This is my first post since banding because everyone told me, "Aw, the pain is not bad!" Bull corn! My port area still hurts the worst. Still taking pain meds, but my own. Dr Zapata doesn't think there should be much pain post op. :wink2: And I started summer classes 5/19. Been a tough week for me! Just glad I'm not alone. We are getting better everyday, right? BTW~ I've lost 15lbs. Probably water but, I'll take it!! -
Hello all. My surgery date is 5/12! WOOHOO Can't wait. Been reading everyones post~ nice to meet you all. I'm starting to worry I still won't be able to lose weight after I get the band. I know it's crazy! I don't know; I guess the closer the surgery gets, the more crazy ideas pop into my head. My surgery is on Monday and I start back to school the following Monday. Just worried I'll be in a lot of pain. I'm in nursing school and will be doing clinicals at the hospital. WoRrIeD!!! So I'm sure things will be fine. Just still fraking out a little bit.

My doc did a vag ultrasound and saw the cysts on my ovaries which confirmed his dx. I had all those symptoms PLUS black around my neck, on my knuckles(sp?), and between my legs. I did not have regular periods at all. PCOS is related to being overweight. I was seeing an infertility specialist to ovbiously get pregnant and he figured it all out. I lost a little weight and got pregnant (almost 7 years ago). Hope this helps:) jessi

Fill Doctors for Patients of Mexican Surgeons

How about Texas? Like close to the panhandle?? thanks -
I'm not too sure about specific testing for PCOS. But I did have it. There are several symptoms that relate back to PCOS. I had a hyst and therefore no longer have it. Now it is called insulin resistance. Are you trying to get pregnant?

I understand being scared, too! My surgery is 5-12. But dg2tx is sooo right. This will change the rest of our lives~~~ FOREVER~~~. Positive thoughts are the key here, I think. I will be praying for you both. ~~jessi~~

Hello all. My name is Jessi. Thought I would indroduce myself. I live in the Tx panhandle. Married my high school sweetie 11years ago:tt1:. We have two wonderful children. Jessalyn is 11 and Shelton is 6. I'm a full time nursing student and will graduate May 2009...wooooohoooo! I have always struggled with my weight, but when I got pregnant with Jessa @ 16, thats when the weight really piled on. :smile2: By the time she was 2 I was almost 300 lbs. Prepregnancy wt was 160. So fast forward-----> Wanted another baby really REALLY bad. Did all of the infertility stuff. Couldn't figure out why I could get pregnant @ 16 but not in my 20's. Dr told me all of my infertility problems were weight related. Lost 30lbs and BAM I had shelton 10 months later. So now, getting closer to thirty (but not YET) and I want to be healthy. I've had two back surgeries and a hyst. I'm so excited to say I;m leaving for MEXICO 5-11 and surgery will be 5-12. I'm soo ready to be healthy and hot again! So thats pretty much the short version about me. I'm really excited to get to know all of you. ~~jessi~~
