Wow, yeah... No matter what happens (even if you do manage to get him to write a letter) Iwould switch once you are finished with this process. I hope you get everything worked out, please let us know how it goes!

If I was you, I would still try and explain to your PCP how important this is to you and that you don't want a quick temporary fix but a tool that can help you manage your weight forever. Let him/her know that if your views are that different that you think it might be best to find someone else. At the end of the day they work for you. Unless there is a good solid medical reason that you shouldnt have it, then switch. Do you meet the 40 bmi criteria or 35 with comorbidities?

My endocrinologist is the one who got me started.

Do you see any sort of specialists for what would be considered a weight related condition such as an endocrinologist, cardiologist, pulmonologist etc? Maybe they could write one?

Im on day two so i am right there with ya! Its hard but try and remember that its gonna be worth it in the end! Also, come here and vent often. Anytime u get an urge to eat. Or just come on and read other posts as inspiration if u dont feel like talking. Good luck, we will get through this!

Mine had me give up caffeine, alcohol and carbonation. Told me to practice "eating in order" Protein first, then veggies and then carbs if still hungry. Make sure and include a fruit or veggie at every meal. Oh, and not to drink my calories and aim for a minimum of 64 oz of Water a day. Also to practice not drinking with my meals.

Surgery date 8/16/2018
Good luck!

Hey, we have the same date! I use a cpap also and agree with the nasal pillow. It sits right below your nose. If you do happen to be a mouth breather but cant stand something on your face, they make a chin strap. Try and relax and know they have alot of experience and maybe ask if they could take it off when they see you are starting to come out of your anesthesia? Couldnt hurt to ask. Good luck!
