Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies Check In Here!
J San replied to Ylime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've replied on several July surgery posts but I don't know why I've never posted here. Tomorrow is my last day of my two week pre op diet and I go for surgery on Thursday July 12th. The diet has been not so hard but the hunger gets old real fast. I'm allowed shakes for two meals and a small portion of protein and vegis for the 3rd meal. I have a list of snack I'm allowed and a list of "freebies". Only freebies I've been having is salad greens and pickles. Not nervous yet, maybe they'll come the day of surgery? Best of luck to everyone else waiting to get this done. -
Sorry for you loss @passportx2 also to your husband. It sounds to me like you have worked everything out so there will not be any issues. Have faith in your son, I'm sure he will surprise you. I'm sure everything will go much smoother than you ever thought it would. Have a wonderful surgery and a smooth speedy recovery!!!

Day 10 on my pre op diet and I started getting them yesterday. Not a normal headache either, feels different. Like a deeper pain if that makes sense? Goes away after the next meal. Actually got me nauseous today for a bit. The hunger has seemed to get normal, not better just normal. But the headaches are new. Hope they don't last the rest of this week

That's awesome, Congrats!!!! I love hearing the success stories. Keep up the great work and continue to keep us updated. I'm five days away from my gut cut and I can't wait to be on the other side shedding my own weight with you.

Damn I can't wait I'm grossed out every time I sit on the toilet as it is.....

1st gotta say sorry to @DuaneW for not having an answer to his question. I am pre op still and don't have co workers so don't have an answer. 2nd sorry your post going off in a totally different direction. I really think @Matt Z had the proper answer anyway. I'm just curious what would be the outcome if the tables were turned? Do the women care if a guy posts in their forum? If the women do not have any issue with men posting in the area designated for them and vice versa then why have these forums set aside. If a woman has a "woman" post/question then why not just put that in the title and the same with the men? Just put it in the title. I guess the only problem is the imbarrassing issues. Ah who knows, just break the damn "rules".....

I don't think they have us do this diet so we can shrink our liver. I think it's so we can get used to our stomachs hurting so damn much from hunger. LOL. Today is the end of week 1 with another to go. It's been OK but dealing with it every day is getting REAL Old REAL Fast.... Good luck to all of you and do your best to stick with it. WE can do it!!!!!

@AshAsh12 It seems you have a positive attitude about it so that's great. Keep your head up, they'll get you all squared away. Hopefully soon and then no more issues.

Time to be honest!!!
J San replied to Simpson062681's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Late night is the worst for me. Seems like my brain has nothing else to focus on but food. O know I'm not hungry but damn I wanna eat. Too bad you couldn't time it so the diet was right at the end of the school year Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app -
I was wondering the same thing. I'm down 7 pounds on day 5 of 14. Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app

Time to be honest!!!
J San replied to Simpson062681's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 5 for me. No cheating at all. I hate food commercials though. The pizza ones kill me. I get 2 shakes a day and one meal. I've been doing a shake for breakfast and lunch. Then a 3oz piece of chicken and a vegatable for dinner. I can have 2 snacks. Usually have a small salad with a tiny bit of olive oil and red wine vinegar. I get hungry in between but stretch out times between because I only sleep 3 to 4 hours a night Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app -
Why would a hernia warrant WLS?
J San replied to Bryn910's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I fit in your description, sort of. I initially went to visit my surgeon because I have a naval hernia that needs repair. He strongly suggested WLS which for me turned out to be sleeve. His reason was he can repair it but because I'm super fat the chance of it staying closed were slim. He also said I could develop hernias in different areas because of the size of my belly. It's not like I don't need the surgery and my PCP has suggested it to me a few times but my brother had band surgery and it didn't work for him so I figured WLS would work me either. I was there for about an hour and a half, watched a video about it and even had my 1st visit with NUT as she works certain days out of his office and squeezed me in for an appointment. Walked out with all kinds of paper work and a plan to get my body right for the surgery. That was back in late March, I'm 10 days out from surgery and on day 5 of pre op diet. -
Congrats!!! May you have a smooth surgery and speedy recovery!!!

I really messed up on pre diet
J San replied to Oceanlove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats @Oceanlove . You did great and good for you!!! Congrats on getting through the pre op, on having surgery and doing well on your post op diet. I'm on my 4th day on pre op and i'm allowed one meal so although it's hard I can't imagine all liquid. Best of luck on your recovery and weight loss!!!! Also don't worry about what rude people say here or anywhere on the net. It's easy to be an A-Hole when you are anonymous. -
Congrats to both of you!! Best of luck on the recovery and hope there are no issues other than the gas.
