  1. Congrats to you!! I had sleeve done 2 weeks ago, I was given tylenol with codeine but only used it for two days after I as the pain was not that bad after I left the hospital. It's hard to say what would work for you pain, everyone's tolerance is different. Maybe try otc tylenol and if that doesn't work ask your surgeon if they could give you something. My brother had band surgery years ago. I won't say the band failed him but rather he failed the band. His will power was not strong and very soon after having it he gave into temptation and started back on old bad habits. He even went back in a few years later and had it readjusted. Still he failed it. He's lost some weight in the last year or so and has been talking about having a sleeve done. Best of luck to you on reaching your healthy place!!!!

    Major non scale victory

Congrats!!! Way to make a GREAT impression!! Something I could never do, I am not good at all in front of crowds. Good Luck and Enjoy!!!
  3. Best of luck on your big day today. Wishing you a speedy painless recovery. Good Luck!!!!
  4. That was good. Thanks for the laugh!!!
  5. This is my first "meal" since surgery, day one of phase 3. One egg scrambled with one teaspoon of whole milk, a sprinkle of black pepper and paprika and 1/4 of banana. Unfortunately this is the post pic as I forgot to take a pre pic but gotta tell you it was not that much larger. I only had about 4 SMALL bites of the egg and started getting that good old feeling right at my sternum area. The 4 bites were over a period of about 10-15 minutes. Very odd feeling to eat such a small amount and have a full belly. This is going to be weird getting used to.

    Driving

Funny but I am 14 days post op and although I was given no restriction I havn't driven yet. My wife is a teacher so she is home for the summer. Without even thinking about it she has been driving everywhere. I don't think I would have an issue driving but sure is nice to have a chauffeur.
  7. I asked for gas-x or something similar when I was in hospital and they told me they do not give that out. So I only had pain meds. I did walk but not much due to back issues that limit that. I found deep slow breaths with my head looking upward and next extended helped the gas release either with burps or just air bubbles popping. Hope gas pain does not last long for you, just know it does get better in time. Sorry to hear your having these troubles. Good Luck.

    Just Set the Date!!

First, congrats on getting your date. Did you try ordering it online? If you look it up on say amazon they will give you a list of alternatives on the same page. Maybe one of those will be available for you. I had it and used it one time. It was quite a shock as I had never used it before. Very minty and for sure made my saliva kick into high gear. I didn't use it again after that.

    Post Op - 2 days

I did not have hernia repair but did have similar feeling when taking to big of a sip or taking to many little sips too quickly. I kept to tiny tiny sips and slowed down when drinking and it helped. I didn't just get them from sipping water, sometimes I would get the feeling when I moved my upper body in certain ways. I guessing it's air in the belly getting displaced.
  12. I was there the day of surgery, stayed the night and went home the next evening. I had no complications and passed my swallow test so there was no reason to be kept there any longer. Why don't you call your surgeons office and ask. Good luck to you on the big day!!!

    Caffeine

Crazy how different the programs can be. Had my 1st follow up with my NUT yesterday and once again she stressed "No caffeine, right? ". Oh well, Like I said I don't crave it so I'm good. Those of you that can indulge, Enjoy!!
  14. Good luck today to those going into surgery!!!

    Very New

Recovery has gone very well so far and I hope it continues. Pain after surgery was intense but the only reason I got a really good taste of it was because the nurse giving the pain meds told me if I was able to sleep than the pain was not severe enough to warrant the meds. I woke a bit later in A LOT of pain and had the med nurse come back in and put me on them. It was an intense moment but once the meds kicked in I was good to go. There was pain from gas and the incisions but they were manageable. Fortunately I was able to stop taking the tylenol with codeine they sent me home with the 2nd day post op. Still some pain from gas and the incisions but minor. I know everyone's experience is different so I wish you the best of luck with it all.

    Protein Shakes

I use powders as you can tweek them if needed with different ingredients. I use non flavored with soups and broths and the flavored with yogart, sf jello mix or sf pudding mix among other things.
  17. I would like to ask were you heavy when the two of you fell in love? That could be a reason she is acting this way. If you were both heavy she may have fallen in love with that "you" and may feel somewhat betrayed being you lost the weight and look and feel better when she is still the same. Other than that I wish I had some additional wisdom to give you but pretty much everything else I would have said has already been said. All I can do is wish you the very best of luck and say your not a bad looking dude.
  18. DUH I was trying to figure out how the hell I could liquify that recipe.... LOLOL Sorry, That made me laugh at myself. I will do that, Next "meal" I drink I will take pics.

Congratulations on finally making the decision to start on this WLS journey. I too had it suggested by my PCP a few times and had no interest being I knew nothing about it other than my brother having a band several years ago and it failed. I went to see my surgeon to repair a hernia and he convinced me to have WLS after descibing it in detail. I am just about 2 weeks post op and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Best of luck to you on this journey!!!
  20. I will be using this recipe but instead of salmon will be trying it with chicken. Unfortunately I am not a fan of seafood. But it does sound delicious. Will be adding to this thread once i'm out of liquid stage. Thanx
  21. I did what @Chrisb428 suggested and doctored my bone broth up after the 1st time I used it. It had some flavor but was still too bland for my liking. The 2nd batch I boiled it and added garlic, carrots and onions, toward the end I added onion powder and garlic powder. It tasted really good. The next batch I made was with plain chicken stock and it did not work at all it was just too bland. Wound up mixing it with a box of bone broth and added more of everything. Tasted ok but a bit watered down due to the chicken broth. Still better than straight from the box.
  22. Have been wondering the same thing. The fluids seem to going down so easily. No more baby sips either.
  23. Awesome Job @RichMack!!

    Surgical Glue.....

Day 11 here and I've been trimming the edges that are pealing up the last two days. I'm not going to pull or peal on it but not leaving the edges and take a chance they snag on something and rip off either.
  25. Some of his ideas make sense.
