Beginning of second week post op what is everyone eating ?!?!
J San replied to Elizabeeth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 days in on mushy foods. Week 2 post was full liquids for me and pureed is next phase, Thursday. All I'm eating is 1 scrambled egg for breakfast and 1oz of shredded chicken breast for lunch/dinner. I have refried beans that I want to try, maybe today instead of chicken. -
Getting back to working out period. I'm so anxious to start but I was told not until I hit 6 weeks post op. I'm supposed to not lift over 10lbs but that's just impossible. I want to get into a routine as soon as I can and stick with it.

Confused on quantity of liquids
J San replied to jmccarty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just listen to my body. At the start of each stage I've had a hard time getting the proper amounts in but towards the end of the stage it all works out. I'm struggling right now on my 5th day with mushy foods. I feel so full all day long and I've been 10-20oz/grams down from goal. I can't believe how few calories I'm getting in and still feeling ok. -

@KRush88 Type @ and start typing persons name. A drop down menu will appear with names on, keep typing until you see persons name and click on it. Hit space bar and type your message. Make sure you hit space bar and don't click on persons name again after it is set. Somehow the you get locked in persons name and can't type if you do. -
Hard lump under incision
J San replied to Jandrem78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told there are internal dissolvable stitches under the top layer of skin on my incisions. Only one feels hard under but when I stretch it looks like something is trying to poke out of my belly. I'm 18 days out, I'm sure after some time it will go away. -

@oclery I'm only two weeks post op so I really don't have any great advice to give you but I will say this. Start your own post so you don't get lost in this thread. I would even post it in multiple areas, Post Op weight loss, General weight loss and in the category that fits which surgery you had. Trust me you will get answers to any question you have here. Whatever you are going through there will be someone here that has been through it and will have some great information for you. Good Luck to You!!! -

I use 16oz of water and it tastes fine. Sometimes eve add more water when I drink it down some just to thin it out more. I know everyone's tastes are different but to me it is just fine. At least try it. Maybe just do a couple of oz with a sprinkle of powder to taste it. -

Try making your own with water. That's how I make mine now post op and they taste pretty much like they did before when I made them with almond milk. Also some people switched to veggie protein to stop the belly problems. Good Luck!!!! -
@lizvirgo09 use the @ and type the persons name. A drop down menu will pop up and you can either continue typing persons name or pick it from list if there are enough matching letters so it pulls it up. Or you can click on the persons text, highlighting it ( You can pick part of the text as well, you don't have to pick it all). Another pop up will appear that says "quote". Click on that and it will put it in the respond window. Type response below it and submit.

That pain in your chest is normal. I figured it was the gas in your stomach being displaced but I still have it. Now I'm thinking it's just fullness in your belly. It's more often right out of surgery and get less as time goes on but I have read some folks here say they still get it months out. It hurts a bit if I drink or eat too fast or too much but that also happens less now. Maybe it will just become a normal for us or it's our new full meter telling us to stop before we overflow? Congrats you all and good luck with your recovery!!!!!

Keep your head up brother. Everything will work itself out. Do what they want of you so the next time in all will go as planned.

I didn't start protein shakes until 1 week out according to my program. Only clear liquids for the first week. Call your NUT as soon as you can. Look through your paperwork, maybe you have something in there that was overlooked. I know I had to continuously refer to my sheet to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. Good Luck!!!

5 days post-op (No dumping, no vomiting) an I missing a signal?
J San replied to JessiG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. Your not missing any signs. I had a bit of nausea for 2 days post but that's gone. Get that breast bone feeling when I drink too fast or when I get full. On mushy stage and get full super quick but have done well otherwise with everything I've tried so far. Your doing great!! Hope it stays that way for all of us!!!!!! -

I had a cushion from an old otteman that I pulled the cover off. I cut it at an angle and covered it again. Put two pillows on the top half and sleep on my back on top of it. I'm not quite in the seated position but up on a good angle. I started sleeping this way about a week or so before surgery due to my back. Before that I was sleeping sitting up on the sofa because of my back. It works great for my back and works great with my stomach. I used to sleep on my side but it's been a long while since then. -
Thank you Darling!!!!!

Hmmm... I know my nephew used to run with a weight vest. I wonder if he still has it. Might have to borrow it just to try it out. As long as it's not that heavy. Probably wouldn't fit anyway.

Food Before and After Photos
J San replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
On your next batch try adding non flavored protein powder. Not sure if it will bake well or not even make a difference? Plan on making a bake myself this week, maybe will do today after seeing how delicious those look. -
Used my camel back on yesterday and today's walks. Minus the bladder because one of my kids broke it some time back. Had my daily BS I carry in it and my 32oz water bottle. Hardly any weight but considering I havn't done any kind of exercise in YEARS it works for now. I think the bladder pocket is a perfect place to put the weight. I have steel plates of varying weight and size so once I get more comfortable with this new fandangled walking thing I'll experiment with different amounts.

How often do you weigh yourself?
J San replied to Tracy1978's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
............So just got back from my walk and after talking to my wife about calories burned I found out using a generic input on MyFitnessPal was not a good idea. Apparently with the tiny amount of walking I did there is no way I could burn so many calories. Well maybe not but I still lost 4lbs according to my scale that sometimes very often does not read accurately. ITS MY STORY AND I"M STICKING TO IT.....as long as you all know it's probably all BS. I did learn something though...............
