Weird post-op weight loss surgery benefit...
J San replied to insta_adventurer's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Maybe becsause I had VSG but those b@st@rds still rip me apart. I can sit out with my wife for 2 minutes and I'll end up with 15 bites and she wasn't bothered. Even now if I spray myself from head to toe I'll still wind up with 1 or 2 bites. I wish what you are experiencing happened to me. -
Congrats on your surgery date. Best of luck on a smooth surgery and recovery. Also on kicking the meds sooner than later!!
-
That is great, I love it!!! I jumped and couln't be happier. Chute opened and I landed pretty damn good.

Had my 2nd post op appointment yesterday. All is going well. The best news I got is that I am clear of restrictions. I can start working out with weights and I can go swimming. I havn't gotten in the ocean at all this year, I just hope it warms up enough for me to enjoy at least one day at the beach.

I’m concerned it’s not working

Follow your program, don't cheat and be honest with yourself. If you are cheating, well you know it only gives you the feelings you are having right now. Try your best to get back on track. If your not cheating talk to your NUT and let them know what's going on and how you are feeling. Follow the advice the others have given you here. I wish you success and the best of luck to you!!!! -
@enjoyinglife I already responded to your post on another thread but let us know what's going on with you. No need to bash other's threads or bring in negativity. We are here to support each other including you. We are all willing to give support where needed and it seems like you need some right now. Let us help you out, no need to face it alone.
-
You sound like you may need some support bud? I really hope no one is hacking your account. If your having issues ask for help man. We will do the best to help you through.

SF ice pops, SF Jello, pickles, chew on SF gum. All are low or no calorie. Yogurt in your protein shake is a great idea, not much needed and will help fill you. For your broths add veggies and seasoning then strain after. I added ground garlic, onion powder, pepper, chopped onion and carrots to mine. Of course make sure your surgery team approves. Best of luck to you, you've done a week already. Stay strong, you got this!!!!!!

This is so important. Make sure you are mentally ready to commit to the type of changes you will have to go through for this surgery. Pre surgery it is very hard to commit to the changes but you have to if you want to succeed. The sucky thing now it that you have to REALLY commit to it all and in a very short amount of time. Hopefully this does not discourage you. Follow the advice given here and by your NUT. You CAN lose the weight in the time you have left. If you need support we are all here to do just that. Ask questions, ask for support whenever you need it. We all want to succeed and help each other succeed. Don't feel like your alone.

You look wonderful!!! Congrats on your 1 year surgiversary and on the great progress you've accomplished.

Is it possible to build muscle after the sleeve? I'm about to find out.
J San replied to BlueCrush's topic in Fitness & Exercise
1st Congrats on your success. 2nd GREAT idea for a thread. I was just cleared today to start working out "lightly". I'm only a month out so no where near goal but plan on lifting lighter weights with higher reps for now. I havn't been near weights in quite some time. As my body adjusts I will lower the reps and raise the weight amounts to help build muscle mass. Without researching it I couldn't give you any good answers to your questions, sorry. I'm sure you'll get the answers once some of the more experienced members see this thread. Again gotta say, Love the idea of this thread. Not only to help others looking to build muscle mass but also for yourself, to track your progress. Best of luck to you sir!!!!! -
Waking up in pain after surgery
J San replied to ALEandVSG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I woke up I just wanted to go back to sleep so the nurse that was in charge of giving me my pain meds said if I can sleep than I not in enough pain to need them. I was ok with it until about an hour later when the pain kicked in. After I got the pain meds I was fine and it wasn't bad. I had my last dose of pain meds the next day at around noon and went home around 7pm. I think I took the Tylenol w/ codeine they prescribed me 2 or 3 times due to my "belly" pain. I did use it here and there for my back pain but pain from surgery was very low after I got home. -

Why I am so hungry all the time.
J San replied to newmeinfla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Only being a month out from surgery. I struggle to find that happy spot. I almost always tend to eat one or two to many bites and feel a bit uncomfortable after. Strangely the few times I have felt satisfied were when I felt like I was stopping early. Letting the food settle over time and all is good. BTW I've yet to know what under eating feels like, I haven't done that yet. -

J San replied to newmeinfla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
From what I've read/watched, if you drink after eating without waiting the 30 minutes it can help move the food/drinks you had out of your stomach and cause hunger sooner. Also what @FutureRN19 mentioned about acid refulx. -
That is a wonderful accomplishment, you must be so proud. Congrats to you!!! You look amazing!!!
