    Yuck!!!

I feel like a broken record but I'll suggest it again. Try powdered protein shakes. You make them how you want, thick or watery and you can add things to them. I find them not nearly as sweet as the premier shakes even though I only tried one vanilla shake pre surgery. The main one I use is Body Fortress and I buy it at WalMart. It's like $17 for a 2lb container. Also like @Orchids&Dragons suggested, Protein2O drinks are great. 16.9oz towards your water intake and 15g of protein.

    Puree Recipe Ideas?

I searched gastric sleeve recipes, stage "xx" recipes and bariatric surgery recipes on Pinterest. Trust me, you will get tons of links. Prepare to spend hours there.

    Paranoid as hell!

Let your body heal. Your belly is healing and your body is holding air from surgery. From what I've read liquids can't stretch your belly because they just pass through. Flatulence is good, it's going to help relieve the gas pains in your belly. Call your surgeon and voice your concerns with them. I'm only repeating what I learned from others here. Either way Congrats on your surgery and best of luck to you sir!!!!
  4. I have to remind myself everyday to wear pants.. Good luck to you for the next two weeks!! Be strong, YOU GOT THIS!!!! Best of luck on your surgery as well!!

    Two day countdown

Any pics I've taken all I was wearing was shorts. Front, side, upper body, whole body, selfie type sitting down and face straight on. Should have worn bra and panties but I don't own any.....
  6. I was told it would take around two weeks. It took exactly two weeks to the day to hear.

    Mosquito Bites??

Welcome to my world. Have always attracted all biting bugs and it hasn't slowed down a bit post WLS. I usually have to spray myself multiple times if I'm outdoors and still get bit. Worse part of it is I'm allergic to mosquitoes so when they bite the area swells up like I'm diseased.

    Recommend me a fitness tracker?

I have been using MyFitnessPal to track my food so because of that started using MapMyWalk app. It's pretty good. Tracks your path from A to Z, tracks distance, duration, pace, calories burned, steps and elevation. Also shows your location on a map and your path. You log in with the same account and it syncs with MFP. There also other apps like MapMyFitnessWorkoutTrainer, MapMyRun, MapMyHike, MapMyRide.

    Weight vs. Volume

Great question and great answer. I've only been measuring my protein as directed by my plan but now that I'm cleared to try anything including veggies this is good to know. ThanX!!

    Kayak Adventure!

Sounds like a blast. I would love to give that a try some day. My wife has gone several times and she loves it. I told her the next time she plans on going I'm in. Congrats to you for getting back to it. Glad your having fun and getting back to normal things!!!

    Thrill Seekers

Motion sickness on a coaster, now that sounds like a party. I don't see why it would be an issue a little while out but check with your surgeon/team. Good luck getting back to the rides and HAVE FUN!!!

    What to expect??

For the 1st half boredom. Nurses will perform a few tests, BP etc... You'll get stuck with an IV. I was given a nausea patch they stuck behind my ear. A lot of down time in between all of this happening. They'll wheel you to the OR ask a few pointless questions as you go night night. 2nd half will be a lot of sleeping. You'll wake up, possibly be in some discomfort and they will give you pain meds through your IV. I was in and out, probably waking every 1 to 2 hours. Nurses will come in give you more pain meds or nausea meds. I had to piss in a container so they could track how much fluid I was letting out. Wasn't told this initially so the 1st time I had no idea why I was pissing in a giant "mug" so I dumped it in the toilet. They'll get you to start walking to help with the gas and it just repeats until you go home. Oh yeah, you'll have to swallow some nasty tasting liquid that they will watch go down to your belly to make sure all is clear then you will be allowed to sip liquids. Not a big deal. Just a long period of rest and some boredom. Congrats by the way and best of luck to you.
  13. Congrats your doing great!!! Especially love the specs.
  14. My calcium citrate chewable I like. My B12 chewable is not bad. But my multi with Iron is horrible. Way to sweet with a nasty ass medicinal taste that just consumes your mouth with yuck. And the after taste lasts for hours. No amount of water gets rid of it either.
  15. It is foolish to tear one's hair in grief, as though sorrow would be made less by baldness.

    Liquid diet tips

I only tried a vanilla premier and hated the taste of the sweetener used, especially the after taste. Maybe I would have liked some of the other flavors but really enjoyed the powder so just stuck to that.
  18. I learned more here than from my surgery team. They were/are very general with the information given. The only one that I get descent info from is my NUT. My plan says no patches or gummies due to absorption. But have read from people here that they use them and have no issues. I think EVERY PART of this process varies from one surgery team to the next.

    Today is the day

Congrats to the two of you. Best of luck on a Smooth surgery and an even Smoother recovery!!!!
  20. Your team should have gone over this with you, if not be sure to call them and ask. On my program I was allowed to take any medication/supplements right away as long as they were smaller than the bed of your pinkie nail. I had some supplements that were chewable and some that were capsules. Had to switch to all chewable or sublingual for better absorption.

    Time for surgery

I was told to be at the hospital "around" noon when I got confirmation at my surgeons office a week prior to date. Then I got a call from the hospital the day before surgery to be there at 8am. I was in the prep area right away and the nurses did all the testing, IV etc. I did did go up just after 12 for surgery.
  22. Best of luck to you up and coming surgery folks. Congrats and finally getting here.
  23. 75lbs in almost six months. That is great. I hope to be nearly so successful. Good on you man.
