    Weight loss status

Or scroll down, on the right side you will see a box with "Together We Lost". Change your weight there and it will update your stats.
  3. Congrats on a successful surgery. The weight gain post surgery is a bummer, fortunately I had read other posts of people ranting about it so I knew what to expect. What helped me with the burp relief post was looking straight up stretching my neck and taking deep breaths. Sometimes through my nose worked better but sometimes through my mouth was. It would let that know feeling in my chest escape and I felt much better after. Good luck on your recovery!!!
  4. I was told I could not work out until 6 weeks out. Same for swimming. I was cleared at just over 5 weeks at one of my follow up appointments.

    SHOULD I DO IT?

Welcome @Nfan49@frankie to the forum. To answer your topic question, I would say yes. I have read many experiences here and while most are successful there are some that are unfortunate and have complications. I don't think I have come across any from my time here that have had any long lasting issues especially lifelong. I consider myself fortunate, I have not had any complications as of yet but I am only just under 2 months out. Congrats on making the step towards VSG. Best of luck to you on your journey!!!
  6. We could always just crash your room after........
  7. Ooohhhhh SNAP It's Almost THE Day!!!! WHOOP WHOOP Where's the after party at?

  9. Didn't think this amount of weight loss was possible. That's amazing.

    Weird notice

Same here. Feet are thinner and not swollen anymore. I had no idea ear lobes get thicker with weight gain. I also don't wear earrings so......
  11. Hmmm... I think I get it. If I need 1500 a day to run and I only consume 300 and burn 100 in exercise than my body is burning 1300 of stored fat? I hope I didn't just confuse the ish out of anyone but myself there.
  12. It will become red in color around the incision and probably be sore to the touch. If you just use the antibiotic ointment it will more than likely be fine. Three out of 4 of my incisions looked open when the glue and scabs came off. It was just the surface skin where the glue was holding them shut. The stitched section under the surface was already healed shut. I just put Neosporin on them through out the day and they look perfectly fine now.
  13. If you have eaten 300 calories for the day, and burned 100 calories during exercise, you are now down to 200 calories consumed at the end of the day. But I'm pretty sure that's what you just said, right?

    Surgery on Tuesday

Congrats to you bud. Don't let your fears or worries get to you. Everything leading to the surgery (at the hospital of course) is pretty boring. When you wake up your still kind of out of it but there will be pain. Mine got extreme but that was due to the nurse not giving me my pain meds right away. All I wanted to do was sleep so she felt that if I could sleep through the pain immediately after surgery (probably still hopped up on the pain meds from surgery) I didn't need more. Big mistake saying OK to that. Don't make the same mistake. While on the meds everything was manageable to me. Walking did help a great amount. All I packed in my bag was a phone charger, ear buds and an extra pair of drawers. I was buck ass about 90% of the time while in the hospital so no need for a change of anything really. Oh yeah, I had a squirt bottle of that Biotene spray for dry mouth as well. Relax and enjoy this weekend. Best to you on this journey and a speedy recovery!!!

Guys who started over 400 lbs.

Great work so far with your loss. Will you be able to get the replacement as soon as you hit 295? Hopefully so, you'll be there in no time.

How do you tag someone in this app?

When you put @ and type the persons name you have to click on it in the drop down menu that appears. Just be sure to hit space bar after. For some reason sometimes my cursor gets stuck in the blue box and I can't do anything else. @rs
  19. Why does everyone keep posting pics of different people? Seriously though, You ALL Look great!!! Congrats on your success!!!!

    Post op

Water won't hurt your pouch but don't make yourself uncomfortable. You may more than likely not be able to make goal early on but as time goes on you'll be able to drink more. Listen to your body. Good luck to you and CONGRATS!!!
  21. On my program any liquid counts. Ask your NUT.
  22. When I was first post op it seemed no matter what I was doing there was some kind of food related commercial, add or whatever taunting me. I would sip water to get that full feeling and it helped. Now 7 weeks out it's still there but not as extreme. I know I wouldn't be able to eat much of whatever looked so delicious so it discourages the cravings. Those two paleo sites look like they have some great recipes. Thanks for the links.
  23. I was not told to avoid it or not eat avocado specifically. But my plan does say to eat a low fat/high protein diet. Which unfortunately avocado does not fall under either category.
  24. Be careful with some of those protein shake recipes. Even though most of them are healthy there could be a lot of sugars and fats. I've also found a lot of them are super high in calories just for one shake.
  25. I read in other posts people suggest vegan protein shakes or powders when there are issues with whey.
