How often do people weigh themselves after surgery ?
FancyChristine15 replied to jadecharm's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I weigh once a week, on the same scale, wearing the same shoes, similar clothes, at the same time...etc... I work in a gym, so we have a nice scale, and I weigh-in every Monday before I eat breakfast. I have weighed daily before, and it just messed with my head too much. -
Gain and then stall?
FancyChristine15 replied to wjgo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Are you tracking what you eat, drink, and the calories you burn? If so, would you be willing to provide us an example of a regular day for you? This way, we could offer advice. -
How long did it take you to get your surgeries?
FancyChristine15 replied to WeGettingThere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was almost exactly 6 months from my first appointment to my surgery date. 6 months is what my Cigna insurance required. -
In a month I only lost 6lbs :’(
FancyChristine15 replied to jultrim18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
According to your stats, you're pretty close to your goal. From what I've heard, the closer you get to goal, the harder it's going to be to lose the weight. Do you still track all of your food, water, exercise, etc? If so, can you provide us with an example of a typical day for you? -
I buried my 15 year old grand-son
FancyChristine15 replied to ProudGrammy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh my goodness. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. I'm so very sorry for your loss. -
You look great!

As of today's weigh in, I reached a mini goal that I had set for myself; I am officially down 200+ pounds! I'm so happy!

Eating and drinking
FancyChristine15 replied to lorraine#11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You only have so much room in your stomach after surgery. It's important to give yourself time to absorb the nutrients you need from the food, and drinking water close to eating can flush out some of the nutrients - as @tamihunt said. -
I never was a big soda drinker, that being said, I have had some soda post op. I'm 10 months post op though. It wasn't worth it. It just made me feel sick. Don't do it!

If you're only 17 days post-op, your body is likely still healing. It may be a bit until you see a good weight loss, but just stick to the plan that your doctor gave you, and once your body is healed, you'll start seeing weight loss.

I've got 86 pounds left until my final goal! -
4 months out and FRUSTRATED!!!!!!
FancyChristine15 replied to OhioSparkle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It will be easier if you can tell us what your intake is like: food, water, calories burned/exercise, etc.. That way, we can assess and offer advice. -
Who has had the sleeve? How did you do? Pros and cons? Would you do it again?
FancyChristine15 replied to HMA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I, like Dubbs, only wish I had done it sooner. I haven't experienced any issues. I lost 58 post pre-op. I've lost 139 post op; my surgery was 3/20/18. -
What is your post-op surgeon visit schedule?
FancyChristine15 replied to Sweettoothless's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My appointments were 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and then every year after that. -
Can you post a list of your daily foods, how much you drink, calories you burn, etc..?
-
Thanks everyone for the prayers

My hospital isn't too far from my home. I only had to stay one night. I would be sure to bring a change of clothes for the next day, something to keep you occupied, like a tablet, book, or magazines, toothbrush and toothpaste. I had a couple of visitors, but I wasn't a big fan of visitors, because I was very uncomfortable from the gas. So, I preferred being by myself.

Pixie cut and hair loss - 5/6 months out
FancyChristine15 replied to AEdoesRnY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I've seen, I think a pixie cut will help hide the thinning hair some. I don't know how or why, but it really does seem to help somehow hide the fact that the hair is thinning. -
Backhanded compliments
FancyChristine15 replied to chellyvillen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't focus on the one backhanded compliment that you received. Focus on all of the genuine compliments that you received instead! His dumb comment isn't worth your time. -
I was also told only Tylenol for pain from the surgery on. So, as long as acetaminophen as the pain reliever, you should be okay. I actually don't think I've had to use any cold medicine since my surgery though, so not for sure.

Protein is what keeps me full. When I eat high carb foods, I can eat more of them than I can eat high protein foods. If you switch the higher carb foods you're eating with lower carb, higher protein foods, it will probably keep you fuller longer.

Dang, there's a lot of negativity on this post. She made a mistake. She realizes that she made a mistake. We've all made mistakes whether it's with drugs, alcohol, food, in life...whatever. Let's all remember what Thumper taught us all those years ago: "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all".
