Just letting my non-surgery related frustration out
FancyChristine15 posted a topic in Rants & Raves
UGH! I'm SOOOOOOOO annoyed right now. Like the title says, this has nothing to do with weight loss....just fyi. So, I'm in a musical right now, and we've only got 7 rehearsals left until we open, so we're getting down to the wire. Well, it's the directors job to give us....well.....direction, and I (most of the time) happily accept direction from him, as that's what he's there to do. Well, our stage manager seems to think that it's also her job to give us notes and tell us how to sing and how to walk and talk, etc. It's not her job though. I've been a stage manager before, and your job is to help the director in whatever they need, but not to give the actors contradicting directions that the director is giving, which is what she's doing. I've worked with this woman in many shows and performances, so this isn't our first gig together. Well, last night, I had enough. I finally took the director to the side and explained my frustrations. I just don't think that anything will come of me talking to him. I don't want to blow up at her, but it feels like that's where we're headed....ugh! As an actor, I can't have one person telling me do this and the other person telling me do that... it's too much to try to focus on that, get my lines down, make sure I'm singing the right notes, doing the right dance moves, the right blocking, etc.... UGH! -
I know it's nobody's business BUT
FancyChristine15 replied to justmetj's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've also told everyone. I understand why some people would want to keep it to themselves, as some see it as the easy way out....little do they know. I just don't really give a you know what what anyone thinks though. -
Getting back on the wagon
FancyChristine15 replied to veronica97's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Welcome! I'm so happy that you're ready and you have your family's support; all of that makes a huge difference! Our beginning stats are very similar! Let me know if you need anything or have any questions, and I'll help as best as I can. Best of luck to you! -
BMI Goal: is your BMI goal to be healthy or overweight?
FancyChristine15 replied to jultrim18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My goal is 175, and, based on my BMI, I will still be overweight at that point. Oh well! lol -

Thank you! Yes, it is! -
Post your daily complaint/gripe.
FancyChristine15 replied to insta_adventurer's topic in Rants & Raves
Mine is the opposite of some above. I have to go to the bathroom 2-3 times a day, which is fine, but I don't always like having to go at work, but sometimes I just can't help it....ugh -
Not seeing myself any different
FancyChristine15 replied to ashleydokey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's more difficult to see the changes in yourself. It also depends what size you are when you start. I was 463 when I started, so it took longer for me, and even others, to notice that I had lost. -
Me too! I feel TERRIBLE for it driving me nuts! They're just eating or clearing their throat, but it drives me insane!
-
OMG! That's terrible!

Does this look infected?
FancyChristine15 replied to ABawdyMermaid's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It doesn't look infected to me either. There is some odd coloring, but based solely on the photo, it doesn't look like pus; it looks more like something hard, like it's trying to heal. -
Is my incision infected?
FancyChristine15 replied to Adrianna_Jan22_2019's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not a medical professional, but it looks fine to me. It's red due to being a fresh wound, but that's it. I'd say you're fine. -
I use MyPlate. It keeps track of your calories, carbs, protein, fat, and water

Apple Cider Vinegar Discussion
FancyChristine15 replied to keylady42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've never heard of apple cider vinegar doing this. Question though. You said that you TRY to stick to your plan. To me, that means that you're not fully doing your program correctly. I'm just basing this on you saying that you're trying and that you've put on some pounds. Can you post what you typically eat and drink in a day? -
Appreciate it. I do when I'm able to. It's a life saver!

Who ignored you? The founder commented, apologized, and said that they will correct the mistake. I think it's time to get down off of your high-horse now.

Any Other Sleevers who did NOT have to do liquid diet before?
FancyChristine15 replied to fun_freckles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I only had to do a liquid diet the day before or 2 days before the surgery. I've seen others on here say that they had to do it for a couple of weeks. My liver shrank significantly before the surgery though, so all was well. Maybe yours isn't an issue. I wouldn't worry about it. -
stalled weight loss
FancyChristine15 replied to on my way to a new me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This looks like a lot of carbs. Maybe focus on getting in more protein, which will in turn make you reduce your carb intake. -
I didn't experience hair loss, and I'm almost a year out, so hopefully I won't. I don't know if I was just one of the lucky ones or if it was anything I did. I'm thinking I was just a lucky one, but I'll let you know what I did just in case. I get 100g of protein daily. I take a bariatric multivitamin and biotin daily.

i am not eating to much protein a day
FancyChristine15 replied to mejsara's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'll second what @2shea said. You need to add protein shakes into your diet. My surgeon had me on protein shakes days after surgery. I had to get 60g a day right away, and at 1 month post op, I was getting 80g a day. -

Can you post what you're eating, how much you're drinking, etc.. -
Great NSV! Mine is that I'm in a musical right now, and finding costumes for my characters has been MUCH easier than it has been in the past!
-
I had mine checked probably a month after surgery, then 3 months, then 6, and I'll have them checked again before my 1 year follow up.

Tired alllll the time
FancyChristine15 replied to jultrim18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you think you may be dehydrated, then you need to drink more water; that'll help. Also, have you had your iron levels checked? I'm anemic, and if I don't take my iron supplements, I'm exhausted. -
Drinking alcohol again????
FancyChristine15 replied to quana711's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't drink often, but when I do, it's hard liquor. Honestly, there are just fewer calories and carbs than in wine. I usually do vodka and water and I add Mio flavoring to it; it's yummy! -
To tell or not to tell?
FancyChristine15 replied to Reducingraven's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should only tell who you're comfortable telling. I told everyone at work. My family. My close friends. I waited a little longer to tell my grandma, because I didn't want her to worry, but I did tell her before I had the surgery.
