I had plans to go back after 1 week, but that didn't work out, because, sadly, my grandmother passed away 6 days after my surgery. I think I could have gone back. I also have a sedentary office job. I ended up helping clean up her house and pack some things; I was careful, of course. I think you'll be okay. I ended up going back 2 weeks after the surgery, and I was fine.

Premier protein smells funny
FancyChristine15 replied to kat brown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've only notice an odd smell once. It was a vanilla one. It smelled awful; I couldn't drink it. That was the only one though. -
New to the sleeve but not WLS

Best of luck on your new journey! I'm happy for you that you made this decision. -
Bathroom problems since December sleeve
FancyChristine15 replied to Akunasleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First, I would talk to a doctor about it. That doesn't seem "normal". A squatty potty is a lifesaver! It just makes the process so much easier. It sounds like you could benefit from a stool softener, but ,again, I would check with your doctor. -
HELP!! Need some encouragement!!
FancyChristine15 replied to CassO's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wouldn't worry too much about stretching out your sleeve. Yes, it's possible to do it, but, from what I've read, it's not easy. You would have to overeat multiple meals in a row to be able to stretch out your sleeve; since you aren't doing that, I'd say you'll be okay. Best of luck to you! -
I don't like setting specific dates for weight goals. It just puts too much pressure on me. My weight loss varies from week to week too. One week, I may lose 3 pounds, then another week I'll lose 7. Weight loss just varies so much.

Leg Compression Device Necessary or Unnecessary?
FancyChristine15 replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used them, but I would think that as long as you get up and walk around often, you'll be fine. -
As of today's weigh-in, I've officially lost exactly 100 pounds since I began this journey. I lost 58 prior to surgery and 42 since surgery! Yay!

The best advice I can give you would be to follow your doctor's advice. Get up and walk as soon as you can after the surgery. Try to drink the amount of water you're supposed to drink a few days after. etc... Best of luck to you!

I ate quite a bit of 2% cottage cheese in that phase.

Talk to me about the week 3 stall
FancyChristine15 replied to ewms's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It can be. I, personally, did not experience a 3 week stall. -
Awesome! Congrats!

Honestly, at first, that's how I described my feelings as well. It almost felt like my stomach was growling, yet, I felt like if I drank anything else, I wouldn't be able to hold it down. I've learned now that that's just new feelings that my new tummy has; it's not hunger. I don't get truly get hungry very often.

Follow your doctor's advice. Sounds simple, but a lot of people think they can do it their own way. Just stick to your surgeon's plan, and you'll be successful. Best of luck to you!

Timeline- New here
FancyChristine15 replied to Queen Grandma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's going vary based on your insurance. My insurance company made me wait 6 months. It flew by though. Even if you have to wait that long too, it's worth it. -
Regarding caffeine
FancyChristine15 replied to apositivelife4me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
From what I understand, it's because it can dehydrate you. That's what I understood. -
The lowest I've ever weighed as an adult was around 260. If I could weigh around 200 consistently, I think I'd be happy. Of course, I'd love to get and maintain at my goal weight, but as long as my weight isn't a hindrance, like it is now, I think I'd be happy.

Props to you for asking for help before you gained more back. That's how I always do. I lose weight, and then I regain more. Not this time though. You've got this!

The gas has been the worst part for me so far in this journey. Thankfully, that will pass in a day or two. Best of luck with everything!

Not eating soft foods yet! Exhausted and can’t get all protein in
FancyChristine15 replied to amartinez8853's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was extremely tired all the time after my surgery. When I went in the office for my check up, my NP ordered blood work, and my iron and vitamin d were REALLY low. I'm supplementing now, and I'm feeling MUCH better. Maybe something to look into. -
Make a list and make yourself stick to it. Don't even go down the aisles that have the food that you shouldn't eat.

Reconsidering bypass
FancyChristine15 replied to kellibambam's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been taking 1 Prevacid a day for years. I got the sleeve done 8 weeks ago, and, so far, I haven't had any issues with my acid reflux. I've been taking the same antacids as before. -
Frustrated scale stall 3 weeks post op VSG
FancyChristine15 replied to mjcclkwd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm with Tealael. Put the scale away. I only weigh once a week, and that seems to be good for me. Are you getting your heart rate up when you walk? I started out walking, but I wasn't really getting my heart rate up, so I switched to using cardio equipment, and I know I'm getting my heart rate up now, and that helps with seeing movement in the scale. I know that getting your water and protein in is difficult. It still is for me some days (I'm almost 8 weeks post op), but I make myself get the amounts recommended by my physician, which is 64oz of water and 80g of protein daily. If you increase your heart rate while you exercise and you meet your protein and water requirements, I'm sure that the scale will start moving more. Best of luck to you! -
I didn't have to do an endo for my testing, but I had one done years ago. You're out for it. So, no worries! I just had to do labs. I know that some have to do labs, ekg, xrays, etc. It's not a big deal though

Dang, girl! That's not even 3 months! That's awesome!
