Post op pain - be honest

The incision pain was never that bad, and I never took the pain medicine that was given to me. The gas pain was terrible for me though. I only stayed one night, then had someone drive me home. I had to take care of myself, which I think ended up helping me a lot, as it forced me to get up and do things. You'll do great!

What did you tell people at work?

I told all of my coworkers and my boss about the surgery. If anyone asks how I've lost so much weight, I tell them too. I don't keep it a secret.

    Hair loss

I'm with Matt on this one. I don't think there is really anything you can do, except let it run its course. From other threads here, people say that it does grow back; it'll just take some time.

    Glucerna Hunger Smart drink

For me, that's too many carbs for the amount of protein you get. I like the Premier Protein, because you get 30g of protein per drink, and it's only 4g of carbs.

Is too fast good or bad?

If your team says everything is fine, I wouldn't question it. Congrats on the loss!

How many cals do you eat at 5-6 Months

    I'm about 5 1/2 months out, and I eat around 1,100 a day.

    Too much protein/Kidney stones

First of all, sorry you had to go through that; I've heard that kidney stones are terrible. How much too much protein is will vary from person to person. My doctor recommended that I get at least 80g per day, but I do around 100g per day with no issues.

    Breakfast cereal

If you're not, please don't take offense to this, but are you an internet troll? You always seem to post just random things like this (that you're eating things that most people can't/don't eat) and then you get really defensive when people try to explain to you why it's not a good idea to do these things. In this post, you say that you can have 225-325g of carbs per day. Then in a different post, you said that you only eat 500 calories a day. Which is it? There is no way that a reputable dietitian would recommend that you eat that many carbs per day either; that's crazy. It seems like you just comment things on here to get a rise out of people. I don't get it.
  9. Oh, yeah. I'm over 5 months out, and I still get nauseous every once in a while. It was really bad this morning. Thankfully, it only lasts for about a minute or so then it goes away, but that minute is no fun.

    Reflux

I take 1 Prilosec per day, which is what I took pre-op too. I have about the same level of acid reflux now as I had pre-op.

    Question about calories

I had to look back in my MyPlate app. lol! I was consuming around 600 calories at week 5.

    Feeling Defeated

Don't feel bad! You know what you've got to do to make positive changes, now you just have to apply those changes. I do understand though. Anytime I have a lower than usual loss, I get a little disappointed, but then I just get happy that the scale is going down and not up like it used to!

    Here I grow Again

You definitely have the right attitude. I'm glad that you are doing something before the weight gain gets out of hand, which is what I wish that I would have done! Congrats on that! You've got this!

    I've lost as much as...

Wow! I've lost an average adult woman and a rack of baby back ribs!

    How many calories per day??

For 1 week out, I would say that's pretty normal. I'm 5 months out, and I get around 1,100 a day.

    Plateau of week one

It sounds like you're focusing on the scale way too much. You just had surgery. How often are you weighing? You may need to go down to just weighing once a week so that you're not so focused on the number on the scale.
  18. If it does feel too heavy at first, you can water it down some. That's what I did for the first few days.

    I’m terrible at this!

It's obviously not too late, but you do need to get control over this. Start slow. You don't have to change every single thing over night. Start by tracking your food, good or bad. Then start by adding in your vitamins. Then make another change when you're ready. Do it in the order you want. You know that you have to get a hold of this, or you wouldn't have posted here. We can't do it for you. It's up to you to make the changes and do what needs to be done. You can do it!
  20. I waited about 3 months or so, and I don't eat them very often at all. I can't do spicy though

    15 month progress.

Wow! You look amazing! What an inspiration!

    So Over This!!

I'm glad that you're now able to drink your protein and your water. The first month is the absolute worst! After that, it gets so much better!

    Nutrient deficiency

I have to take a multi, 2 calcium, 3 iron, 3 half-vitamin Cs, and biotin every day. I always take my multi, calcium, and biotin. I'm not always perfect at taking all 3 iron and C. I try to everyday, but some days I just get 2 in. I had to get a weekly pill organizer and fill that up once a week, so that I know that I still need to take. It's something that you'll eventually get used to. I'd say that i was the most overwhelmed by how many pills I have to take a day, but now I'm pretty used to it.

    Hunger after sleeve...

Once you start eating real food again, you won't be as hungry! Hunger still does happen, but not like it used to.
