    First Gain

If you're in your first week, just focus on doing your best. It's tough to get enough water and protein in at first, cause you're still healing. Just do the best you can to get what your doctor recommends. I did see a loss my first week, but not everyone does. If you don't, it doesn't mean that it's not working; it just means that your body is still healing.

2 Days Post Op and Semi Regret My Decision

The first few days are the worst. It gets easier as time passes. You'll be okay!

    Food

Yeah, there are some things that we will learn the hard way, unfortunately.

30 BMI sleever / hiatal hernia repair 2 stitches

Have you called your doctor's office to explain that to them? I wouldn't wait. Dehydration is nothing to mess around with. Best of luck to you.

Sneezing after I eat. A sign?

Check out this page. I knew I had read something about this before! https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/340983-snatiation-sneezing-when-full/?tab=comments#comment-3841427

    Vitamins

My doctor's office specifically recommended that I take a vitamin for bariatric patients. I have had no issues swallowing, so I take the capsule form. I believe it's the Bariatric Advantage Multi.
  7. I started at 463, and I'm at 285. I'm down 2 shirt sizes and 3 pants sizes. So, it's taken me losing 177 pounds to get down 2 shirt sizes. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing and the weight will come off.
  8. I think it depends on how much you have to lose. I had a lot to lose, so it took quite a bit of weight loss for me to be able to see a change in clothing sizes.

    Thanksgiving

I wouldn't feel right lying to my family, but if that's what you think is right for you, then go for it. I have never kept my surgery a secret, although, I see why people would. Since I am farther out now, I will just eat what is there, but I will only be able to eat a bite of each thing. My grandma passed away the week after my surgery, and people brought us SO MUCH FOOD. I just sat with my family and drank my protein shakes while they ate. It wasn't that big of a deal. I just ate the way that I could, and they ate how they could. What mattered is that we were all together.

    People like me

Hi there! I started at 463, so I'm up there with you. I had the sleeve. I never wanted to do the bypass, and my surgeon didn't try to persuade me to do one surgery or the other; he wanted me to make the choice, so I read info on both, and I decided to do the sleeve. I lost 58 pounds pre-op, and I've lost 119 post-op. It's been FANTASTIC for me! It's been the best decision I've ever made. Wouldn't change it!

    Protein shakes??

Isopure Zero Carb with a packet of stevia mixed in.
  12. It'll happen, just keep it up! You're doing great!
  13. Sizing is so weird! I've lost 177 pounds, so you think I would be down a ton of sizes right? Not really. I started at a 4x shirt, and I'm now in a 2x shirt. Pants, I was in 32s and I'm now in 26s (3 sizes down). I'm keeping at it though. You've got this! Also, I see the original post was a couple of months ago; how are things going now?
  14. I have to let myself have a little something that's "bad" for me. If I eat perfectly all the time, I will fail. It's how I've always tried doing it in the past. I tried to eat perfectly, then I have a taste of something I shouldn't, then it's like a downward spiral, and I can't stop. This time, I'm allowing myself to have a bit of dark chocolate daily. I'm not eating a lot of it, but I'm having a little every day that I want some. I have found that sometimes I don't want any, but not often. I track every bite. It's been keeping me on track.
  15. I got 60g. I drank 2 Premier shakes throughout the day. I had to add water to them, as they were too thick. I now drink the Isopure Zero Carb; it's thinner and easier to get down than the Premier shakes are.

    Happy Halloween!

What is everyone dressing up as?! I went this past weekend as a fancy skeleton!

    Nausea

I had to use Zofran for a while, but the nausea eventually went away, for the most part, for me.

    Happy Halloween!

    Nice, @Matt Z! Cool costumes!
  19. I haven't regretted it yet. A friend of mine had it about 6+ months before me, and she told me "the first month is the hardest", and I kept reminding myself of that if I had a rough day, and she was absolutely right; the first month was the hardest by far.

    Weight loss keeps stalling

I wouldn't say that not losing one week, losing ten pounds the next week, then not losing again the next week is a stall. You lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks, which is great! Lately, I've been losing 4-5 pounds one week, then nothing the next week, and so on and so on. A stall is when you don't lose for weeks at a time. You're doing great. Don't worry.

Not loosing weight and feeling helpless

I don't think that 10 pounds in 3 weeks is bad at all. I've lost 1 pound in the last 3 weeks (I'm thinking my issue is a new medicine that I was on), but I would be excited to lose 10 pounds in 3 weeks. Keep your chin up, and keep doing what your doctor advises; the weight will continue to come off.

    Tall ladies

I started at a much higher weight than you, and I'm no where near goal, but I'll share! Height: 5'10" SW 463 CW 295 GW 175

5th Day Post-Op and always feeling full?

I felt full a lot right after the surgery. It took me a while to drink my protein and my water, but I made myself get it in .

    Six month Anniversary

Congrats! You look, and I'm sure feel, fantastic! I already have some loose skin, and I'm no where near my goal, so I know there is more to come. I would rather have the loose skin than it be full of fat though! Congrats, again!
  25. The only changes that I've noticed is that I don't really enjoy overly sweet things anymore; it's just too much for me now. I actually kind of like marinara sauce now; I don't eat it much, but I had some on meatballs post-op, and it was delicious; I didn't like it at all before surgery.
