    Post-op severe nausea

Ah, you’re ahead of me so please let me know how the fill goes! How are you feeling? Are you on the purée stage?

    Post-op severe nausea

Well, it took 10 days and a de-fill to stop feeling and being sick. Best guess was that the band was pressing on my Vegas nerve (that can’t possibly be the right name! I must have this wrong) which controls nausea. I felt better by the next day. I have to do fluids for an additional week - and my sneaky body has suddenly wised up and I’m now putting ON weight (at c500-600 cals a day). Really hoping I don’t get nausea after every fill

I’ve talked to the nurses. They say the band is just really enflamed. But I’m getting water down (although certainly not enough), it’s just I feel so sick all the time. I am absolutely miserable
  4. Hello I am 6 days post op, and for the last 5 of those have had debilitating and constant nausea. I hadn't seen this as a symptom in any of the research I did and I am quite miserable. Has anyone else had this? How long did it take to go? I'm at my wits' end so would really appreciate any insights or experience shared. Many thanks
  5. I’m scheduled to have a band fitted in June. I expect to get more and more nervous the closer I get! I’m from London.

    Disappearing lapbanders

I know next to nothing about bands (hoping to have mine done in mid June) but knowing a bit about the NHS, do see your GP and get a referral to a specialist. If things sort themselves out in the meantime, you can always cancel.

    Band - what’s the skinny?

Thank you for this - it’s very heartening.

    Band vs others

If the NHS funds (as in this case), they would bear all the costs of follow up appointments too.
  9. ’ve just been for my consultation (with the NHS, in the UK) and been told they no longer do bands because they don’t work in terms of weight loss and almost inevitably end in complications which require the removal of the band. A cynical part of me wonders if this is actually about cost, given the frequency of follow up appointments for filling and defilling You’re all experts, what are your experiences and thoughts please? [NB have also posted this in the band forum]
